Department of General Musings

...rather than studying for final tomorrow.
Lemme see if I can help you with your finals.
  • Physics: e=mc^2
  • Geometry: "pi" is everything
  • Chemistry: Charcoal, Sulfur, Satlpeter, and Fire are a potentially exciting combination
  • Pharmaceutical Science: Don't take the Red Pill
  • Mathematics: Euler's number is trancendental and irrational. 'nuff said.
  • Economics: Economics can be summed up in four words: "People respond to incentives." Everything else is commentary.
  • Marketing: See "Biology"
  • Accounting: Don't write in red ink.
  • Finance: Compound interest is the most powerful force in the universe.
  • English: more easily modified than French
  • Philosophy: Perfect answer to Blue Book exam: "Why Not?"
  • History: Written by the Victors, about the Vanquished. Questions?
  • Political Science - another "perfect Blue Book answer": simply say "I disagree".
  • Geology: Rocks should be loaded into Trebuchets
  • Biology: Should be deferred until Spring Semester
  • Fraternity: "If I don't remember it, it didn't happen."
How's that?

Simple Monkey!!! I'm just delighted you decided to join us!!! Feel free to ask questions...maybe we can condense our history just a bit...and make yourself right at home in our capital city of...what else?...Simpleton. :D

Welcome SM. The main threads to pay attention to for the game is the Diplo threads and the Dept. of Turnplay too (2nd thread... first one is Dept. of Turnplay). Also the BAttle plan for TNT will give you an idea of what is going on in the war.

For other stuff.... All of the other threads have relatively no pertinence to the game but add at least 3 :culture: per turn.

Welcome SimpleMonkey! I trust you will do well on your exam, if not, we have a fine university in Simpleton. Sadly, the only degree offered is a BS.

I've just had a laugh at the latest turn posted . Looks like we're facing a very light defence to say the least. Now we have the option of razing or captureing. Razing means less risk for WW and troops can march on without having to leave someone to defend the city. OTOH, if we raze we leave the space open for anyone to settle the land we just cleared.
My suggestion is that we concentrate on killing off TNT units outside cities and pillage until we have some more defense shipped over. Then we can walk into their cities and keep them. I also think it could make Nuts/MIA sleep better at night if we didn't take too many TNT cities so quick. When defenders are in place/on the way we may take most cities in a few turns.

Interesting, these are the two threads I tend to avoid ...

Welcome!

I wish it was that complex. :crazyeye: We're literally scaring them to death. Call it siege-prevention-auto-raze (TM).

Seriously - Furbomb was abandoned, and I fully expect Unabomb to be abandoned next turn. This will leave us the choice of turning S-SW towards their capitol (where I would expect they'll at least try to make a stand) or we could turn W-NW towards their source of Iron.

I think that we should make a circle around their capital getting them to raze all of their core towns :)

Okay, I know that I'm new here and I haven't read the complete diplo and turnplay threads yet -- but how the heck did these guys get caught with their pants so far down that Chinamen are wondering why Jockey shorts are falling from the sky?

Funny thing Monkey...you'd be hard pressed to see any diplo in the TNT diplo thread. I don't think we've said more than 10 sentences ingame with these guys but in the UN threads things have not been pleasant. They knew we had ill feelings towards them.

I would not be surprised if the capital is empty or just now receiving units.

if we can see that iron, why not send a flaming bearded savage to check out whats the word on Nugget Hill?
cutting off the Blue Steel Look cant be bad, right?

the rest of our Motley Crew can go on to crush their capitol while they are busy screaming "Ich bin ein BERLINER!!!!"

Well we have multiple iron sources. And Robi of the Nuts has mentioned that they kind of have a square plot of land extending down to the jungle.

So the likely hood of them having the 2nd source of iron is fairly high. and going after it thinking that they would no longer have Immos or Pikes might be folly.

But hey if we get close to it, they might raze it for us. btw, do you get WW for razing your own town?

I saw this in the turn tracker.... check out dinsog's location

ahhh. the subtlety of the city screen. That piece of info eluded me...

In that case straight for Genadopolis!!!
