Department of Turnplay

in case it comes in overnight

todo for turn 28....
  1. Make Simpleton citizens work cow, wheat, wines, forest & 1 BG. (The bolded items are currently working 2 bg's and need to switch)
  2. Settle Ignoramus, work the wheat for max initial growth -> build a worker
  3. move Peapants S
  4. Move Ave Joe South to hill
  5. worker finished the road so shouldn't be able to move, but if he can move 1 SE (on the way to the wheat??)

@ Crakie in reference to the settler factory inner workings.....

The mined wines are basically a high gold forest.

pop 4 + 0 food = 5 fpt, 6 spt
pop 4 + 5 food = 5 fpt, 6 spt + 2 shields on growth
pop 5 + 0 food = 5 fpt, 7 spt
pop 5 + 5 food = 5 fpt, 7 spt + 2 shields on growth

All total 20 food & 30 shields = 1 settler + 0 waste. It does have some flexibility if someone forgets to MM on the growth turn, but if it isn't corrected on the next turn then it won't work as efficiently and we'll get discombobulated (<- big word from Whomp). With the above plan MM is only every other turn instead of every turn. You are right that it will work your way, but with so many people playing the save, I figure we should look to our name for inspiration (K.I.S.S. = Keep it simple stupid <not directed at you>

I guess we could also go pop 5-5-6-6 but then we'd have to up our lux spending.

I don't know what I had been smoking when I played that turn... of course I should have worked the wines! Man, now we lost out on some gold. I can only hope we won't lose a turn on IW because of it. Sorry guys, I'll keep my 'thinking' to a minimum from now on...

No Crakie. Keep thinking. :goodjob: Sometimes things need to be second guessed. I'd rather make a mistake that doesn't kill us than something that will like leave 35 artillery undefended in enemy territory.

Let's add screenshots to the "to do" list for each turn.

Will do, but not much has changed...I'll post one here later for the end of turn 27.

  2. Settle Ignoramus, work the wheat for max initial growth -> build a worker (+5food = 4 turn growth)

  5. worker finished the road so shouldn't be able to move this turn, but if he can move SW-S (To road to Dunderhead - then mine BG's around Dunderhead.)
  6. Screenshots!!!!
**** If borders are seen press Shift-D to initiate diplomacy. Although I tried this in a SP game and it didn't work, others here state that it does. So at least try. I've never played a MP game so I'm not sure what is available. SCREENSHOTS , SCREENSHOTS , SCREENSHOTS. If we can initiate diplomacy first our group collective needs to know as much as can be gleaned from the advisors screens. Try to include Military, Domestic, and of course Foreign Advisors as well as the screen where you make any trades. Try to take the screnshots when they are saying something about the other team.*****

EDIT ::: I just noticed that I hadn't moved the Dye city yet. Just imagine that it is on one of the southern dyes. I think right now we (me & the voices) are thinking the dye on the SE of Mount Color.

I was doing some calculations in CAII last night and I think that we only lost 1G toward SCI by not working the wines. at most 2. We'll be able to turn down SCI @ the end of the research so I think that no harm was done.

Just a little something on how to handle mistakes:

Do not do that! You did a small miss because you are good at MM'ing. I'm not that good so I follow Tub's 100% without thinking. If Tubs f**k it up I wouldn't notice, you probably will.
This is where we can go from being a good team to being a great one. If misses are allowed and accepted, no one will need to "stop thinking". As we all know, greatness is defined by recovering from mistakes, not by avoiding them. Trying to do that only creates scared neurotics.
Our opponents will make/have already made mistakes surely so 1 or 2 lost g's are almost irrelevant.
Myself, I'm not that good at anything, but that don't keep me from suggesting and popping ideas. When mixed with others they may turn out useful. Even a seemingly obvious or stupid suggestion can trigger a creative and useful one, thats hard to know in advance.
Keep thinking and posting everyone. :goodjob:

Bravo Dagh! Bravo!

Without the eloquence, I wholeheartedly support everything that Dagh said.

Now, GET BACK TO BEING POSITIVE AND OUTHINKING OUR OPPONENTS :whipped:

Thanks Tubs, Dagh and Kick... I am too much of a perfectionist. On the other hand, I was not being that hard on myself, as I intended to stop 'thinking', not thinking... I you get my drift ;)

As far as the shift-D....the more I think of it the way it works is you can open diplo when you are inside a border but can't see the city. This happened to me with a curragh and shift-d opened diplo. With a warrior I don't think this will happen if you're outside the border but it's worthwhile attempting regardless....

BTW have I told you all today....I love you, man. Keep the discussions rolling.

True words of wisdom, dagh! :goodjob:

BTW, I tried the diplo on seeing borders last night in my SP game, and it didn't work either. I'm trying AW again, and didn't even WANT it to work...prepared to quit game without saving if it did...but was just checking to see what would happen. :D

Well said Dagh!

We need to think about what to do with that warrior that will finish in two turns. I would like to propose one of two choices.

One - explore down the eastern branch of the Simpleton River.
Two - head due east along the coast.

Dagh is right. :worship: the mind.
and my apparent lack of meaningful post is due to:
1- pretty much most of my thinking is preposted here, and agreed to by a majority.
2- im working on upping my post count in another SG, so no need to spam here aswell.

and so you wont think THIS is just a spamful post....
about the warrior - i've got a gut feeling regarding east.

So I grabbed the save figuring TR has given such clear instructions that even I should be able to figure this out, but as it turns out, we meet MIA (greece) warrior in the south. Now I wonder if we should do something about that before sending the save further?

Edit:
They're missing Pottery, CB and WC, and wines.
Military advisor says our military is weak compared to them.
Foreign advisor says they are impressed with our culture and that they're annoyed with us.
Science advisor knows that we're technologically advanced.
F8 screen tells that they're at 2% area, 16% population. We're at 2/29.

Edit2: Btw, Do we have a thread where got-its should be posted?

Great news! Stay cool and we will have some time to discuss this before passing the save. Start with gathering all info there is from advisors and the F11. Make screenies and take notes. Based on that info we might better decide what to do.
I have posted some thoughts in the diplo-thread about what to do if we have Greece on our continent. Let's elaborate that together.
What techs do they have?
How much gold?
Are they strong compared to us?
How about culture?

I think it's time to call in Brother Bede as our honorable diplomat.

Edit: Seems you're gathering info full speed :D . Take screenies especially the F11.
No thread for "got it", but one for "sent to". That's the Turn tracker in main forum.

I'm assuming that this is what the computer thinks they should be if they were an AI civ, rather than some message their team has sent regarding their true feelings about us. Right???
