I'm assuming that this is what the computer thinks they should be if they were an AI civ, rather than some message their team has sent regarding their true feelings about us. Right???

I hope so, but I haven't played the multiplayer game like, ever, so I figured I'd include it in case it means something. :)

I'm all sure this is an AI attitude and nothing more.
Yep! I just looked it up and despotism is shunned by the Greeks and preferred by the Celts. Maybe we ought to let them know about our anarchism??? J/K

Marvelous news. I would like to make contact with them to schedule a discussion. Niko didn't post in the turntracker. I will post we have played and sent, right?

I thought that Nico was waiting to send until we reached some kind of conclusion about what our diplomatic position was going to be.

I'm not sure though - I have a 16month old jumping in my lap as I read these :bounce:

Sweet Booti!

Did we find them or did they find us? I don't think we need to wait. We need to:

First make contact by PM. I will send their UN rep a PM.
Second we need to schedule a mutually beneficical time to discuss thoughts about our new life together.
Third we can bring back the discussion log from IM and the teams can discuss and decide how to proceed.
Fourth we will then draft a treaty.

Off we go.

I didn't send the save yet, I figured we might want to contact them through other means and perhaps even agree to a deal of some sort first. Our warrior in the south found their warrior when moving south as TR had suggested.

Lead on Whomp! I'm with you.

I have to go back and find that MS messenger link. I'll get it downlaoded on my OTHER computer, the weekend one so that perchance I can participate...

just a friendly :wavey: from the freedom kissers. hope youre enjoying the southern island resorts this beutiful summer. would very much like to meet you, but im a bit shy. how about we chat a bit before we get the  flowing. we ladies cant really handle our liquer, so we dont want any accidents happening do we?
meet now. drink later on.
maybe agree to preliminary peace while we negotiate? a treaty to be signed within 48-72 hours or so?

No go ahead and send the save Niko. Discussion will happen fast and furious this weekend. We may not consumate the whole deal other then some preliminary tech trades depending on what each of us have. The key here is how to negotiate the philo sling for mutual benefit.

Well said Dagh!

We need to think about what to do with that warrior that will finish in two turns. I would like to propose one of two choices.

One - explore down the eastern branch of the Simpleton River.
Two - head due east along the coast.

Along the river... coast will be covered by a curragh and rivers make nice city locations.

Todo for turn 29.
  1. MM Simpleton to work the cow, wheat, wines, & roaded BG
  2. Move settler SE-S (moving to the dyes)
  3. move worker SW-S
  4. move Ave Joe west
  5. move Peapants east
  6. check for happiness and push SCI as high as possible
  7. open diplo and offer whatever the Ben Franklin suggests (see Diplomacy thread if details are not here when the save comes in)

Niko played and sent.

Oh good, I was in a bit of a tizzy that we needed to make some diplo decisions right away. :crazyeye:

We are awaiting their response to our "salvo" (so to speak ;) )

There are two teams in front of them so they may wait till the others have played their turns to see where the heck we are located before they talk. For all they know we are preparing a archer rush.

It will be interesting to see how much they know about us considering how much we know about them. (thanks to F11)

Should we share our geek info with them about the other 2 teams? It might scare them a bit that we know so much. Or that might know it too.

I wouldn't share anything yet. The only caveat would be if in diplomacy we were to drop a few lines indicating what we know (or think we know) about them. It could rattle their cages.

Something like, "So what types of training are your five military personnel conducting these days?"

or "How are the people in your newly settled third city handling the rigors of the frontier?"

Obviously we would want to use something that we know is 100% certain.

Oh BTW, the power, culture, and victory screens are a new source of information on Greece. We need to start collecting that data as well. Plus just like in a normal game we will want to visit the diplo screen every turn.
