Chris.. i dont know exactly what CG is using.. but you can achieve all that via "widgets" google it..

theres lots of things out there to help you edit how it looks.

I am still running on XP, I am using a skin powered by Windowblinds. The Massive Icons are done by Iconpackager and the wigets I am running are Yahoo Widges (Formaly Konfabulator) and DesktopX. As well as ObjectDock as my dock you see at the top.
