One hour to code freeze gentleman. The only exception will be translations, until 2PM GMT for XML & the remaining HTML Documents. There will probably be no more changes to the XML, as I think EF is down for the count.:p

I see that the two files Adv Unit Naming.ini and BUG Mod.ini have been moved, in the Repo, inside a BUG Mod\BUG Mod folder. Supposing that it is a choice, my question is where these two files will be in the installed BUG: as previously in the root folder or in a new BUG Mod sub-folder? I ask it because if it is the second option, I have to modify some help files.

I updated the installation help file, so you may want to go off what I put in there. It will be in the a BUG Mod sub-directory within the My Docs\My Games\BTS folder. It was done last version as well, we just did not move the files at that time.

I checked already, but it make me more confused :D
If I understand correctly your answer, this line

ensure that there is a copy of "BUG Mod.ini" is in the "Mods\BUG Mod" folder

is not correct, and should be changed into:

ensure that there is a copy of "BUG Mod.ini" is in the "Mods\BUG Mod\BUG Mod" folder

correct? :confused: (oh, there is also an unnecessary "is", I see now)

No, the Mods\ shouldn't be there.

:confused::confused::confused:
Sorry, but I need to understand, because in the Italian Installation file I give this info (I've been asked to do so) :blush:

I tell you how I understand this, and please can you correct me? :blush:

Actually CustomDomAdv should be in BUG Mod as well. I'll move it now. And when it's installed as a MOD it still installed BUG Mod inside the BTS folder, not within the Mods. The BUG Mod folder will always install into the BTS folder.

Arghhh!!! :confused::confused::confused: :cry::cry::cry:

So, can you PLEASE modify the layout above to show me which will be the final installed layout in both cases (BUG using CustomAssets and BUG using Assets)? If you'll do, you can save my poor brain :lol::lol::lol:

BUG Mod using CustomAssets:

Code:

         \CustomDomAdv\
         Adv Unit Naming.ini

If you are adding this to the Italian, you'll have to add it to the english as well. We can't have the help files containing different information.

Sorry, but it was really difficult for me to get it :blush:

Not all of it, only a cauple of reference.
BTW, there are many little pieces of info that I added to the Italian version while translating it and which are not in the English one, but I'll add also to that as soon as possible (maybe in the beta-test week). Sorry, but for me is more easy and quick to write in Ita and than translate in english that the reverse. To tell the truth, for a couple of docs I've a rather expanded or reviewed version in Ita waiting to be translated in Eng.
I think that the important thing is that at the end we'll have the best possible docs in all languages, of course all giving the same info.

this last exchange about the location of various files is tooo funny :rolf:

Edit: if I wanted to grab a pre-release v3.0 for testing - where would I get that? I'm thinking the install version, not the SVN version.

Alright Gents, I should have an installer set up, with an updated web page, in the next 12 hours. I need some suggestions on a method of distro. i'm thinking of just sending an email to the users ofo the mailing list, and our dev temp mailling list. If you have a better suggestion let me know.

what is the point of sending a beta out if we cannot change any of the code? Or can we change to code but only if we find a show stopper?

My opinion is that during the beta the Devs can code to fix bugs, but not add new features and so.
And the doc guys and translators can also fix mistypes and errors, but not create new files and so.

Of course, this can be done only after the packing and release of version 3.0.
