I'm curious, would it be a good idea to ask TF if we can have a "Uploads Files" specific to DGII? I know my personal files section fills up quickly with all my SGOTM games and is cleaned out regulary. It would be nice to have a location for DGII files so we don't have to use our own personal space. It would have to be monitored so that it wasn't abused, but it is an idea.

I thought about placeing this in SF, but felt I should get every citizens opinion prior to asking TF.

Sounds like a good thing to ask. It would be really helpful if all the DG files were in one place, and not scattered through all the user names. :)

Many of the old demogame files are alas, lost ever since TF wrote that file deletion script. :(

Or perhaps some ftp space like the HoF and GotM have?

There is a demogame.civfanatics.net.

I could see if I can find a php upload script. Then I'll have to see if I still have the FTP info - I should... :)

If you have the FTP info, then we could give each officials some room, and each turnchat could have a small section including saves. Making things in html/php is easier than on the forums IMO.

That was the original idea way back when. :)

(Back in Civ3 DG2. :old: )

If I remember correctly the DG2 website died though, for some reason. Whoever was maintaining it stopped updating it I think.

I wouldn't mind helping out if we decide to use the site again. I'd prefer the demogame.civfanatics.net adres over any other. I can do HTML and some PHP. We could give every office a page, and every turnchat.

So Chieftess, have you still got the info so we can start working? :hammer:

FYI, I've got HTML and PHP experience, though my PHP skills are slightly more specialized. Never did forum type code, or pulling data from a database. Though... I'm sure I could learn.

I do have some PHP + MySQL experience, I even created an entire database-driven membersarea once. I also administrate multiple forums.

:bump: Chieftess, what's the verdict on this?
