DGIT # 2-Krafty Koreans

I think sandrock said he would like 7 players

Once we decide in all of the options we'll start and I'll leave the game open to membership as we play if we don't have our seventh member by then. Any comments/suggestions on what I have below?

6)SpikeIt
7)???

This is not necessarily our turn order. I was thinking of having SolarKnight lead off since Smellincoffee and I played the last two turns of DGIT #1. So we can discuss that as well.

I'm flexible with the turn order, and that sounds good to me.

If we're going with Korea, I think we should go pangea to so we don't have to deal with an ocean when we're trying to trade techs.

Since we're going space lets make it 5 bil years old, so we can maybe get more hills for more production.

Should we use a world seed, or just keep it plain? I like using the seed, seems to throw out a bit more resources, and I think we're going to need it with how tight C3C is with them. Could be just my imagination though.

And Barbs to roaming only though. We're going for space, not trying to get elite units for leader hunting.
I'm not sure if y'alls styles, but mine is more builder, using warmonger only when I have to. That's just an FYI in case you were worried about someone declaring a one city war...;)

Never played Korea before... this will be interesting...

Roaming barbarians sound good. I only forsee us going to war if we need aluminun or uranium in the late game. I've never used a seed before. I guess we should just use a number at random? I'm also of a non-war mongering type myself, but I do enjoy a good epic battle game every once in a while.

You can use numbers or words. Maybe try DGiT2 ?

And how does everyone feel about sticking with or rerolling for starting location?

Korea sounds like fun. I think we need to find a way to use the Hwacha at least once. It does have lethal bombard now with Conquests too, so its a bit stronger than before. I'm not so sure about its ability to start a golden age though.

I'm kind of a half builder/half war type of player. I try and keep the home front secure and productive, but I won't hesitate to attack, especially in the early game to deny my neighbors a strategic resource. And if they manage to build in my first ring, well they are just asking for it.

If we are aiming for a space victory, I would think Continents would be best. Pangea seem to alway be asking for war, while securing a continent sets itself up to a space victory. But I'm happy with either. As for land mass details, I say random, random, random. Gives a little challenge to have to adapt to our conditions.

Are we leaving only Space Victory on? Or is it only our goal, but with other options available (for us to win or to lose by)? I'd prefer the latter, as it can be fun trying to be a peaceful future astronaut, while your neighbor intends to conquer through culture or diplomacy.

One last thing... wouldn't using the seed negate all the land mass options? Or does it just control the resource spread?

I can't wait to get this thing going...:)

I can't answer the seed question, I know little about it. Continents seem fine to me, and I also like random options. One thing we have not discussed much is world size and numer of opponents. I was thinking 8-10 opponents on a large map. I'll probably create this game tomorrow, so start selecting your turn position. I will select my turn position last. If a seventh person wants to sign up they can, but they should also choose a position in the turn order.

Turn Order:
1)
2)
3)
4)
5)
6)

Large map is fine for me. 10 opponents would be my preference. More civs the merrier.

Hmmm. Position 3 is fine for me. But really anything but 1 is okay as I have a busy weekend ahead.

I'm going to request spot #5, and I think we should leave all conditions on, just aim for space race. Or else everyone is going to try and go for space.

Seeds seem to effect everything. I haven't played with them to much, but if I keep everything the same, but change the seed I get a different map then if I kept everything the same and went back to the original seed. (Which actually goes back to the first seed's geography.)

So I guess the turn order is going to be:

1)Smellincoffee
2)SolarKnight
3))SpikeIt
4)-Oblivion-
5)alerum68
6)SandrockLQ

Looks like we're about ready to start this and let smellingcoffee get us set up nicely.;)

I played the last turn of DGT1-- I'd rather not lead this one off.

Yeah, we were thinking about limiting membership to those with names that started with "S." The only members left from our first game all begin with "S." The two people we lost were Constantine and Resistor.

</joking>

ill take first turn if you like sandrock

other than that im flexible for turn order

EDIT: the seed doesn't affect the style of the land, if you select pangea then it willl stay pangea, it will just generate a different kind of pangea with the resources and tiles spread differently

SpikeIt requested turn slot #3, so we'll do this order...

1)SolarKnight
2)SandrockLQ
3))SpikeIt
4)-Oblivion-
5)alerum68
6)Smellincoffee

I'll have the save up by midnight. You have the rest of the day to make any more comments on settings, abd if there is a conflict, I'll decide the tiebreaker.

Sounds good to me.

I have no preferences about the settings, although i do usually play standard maps now.

I'm good with either or. :)
