I think Blas is just stalling for Communism. He might have a long wait as we may not research it unless he chimes in. Then again, by the time we can research Comm. the AI will be researching nukes... ouch!

Congrats on the move! I'm glad it seemed to go okay.

I'll probably take this this weekend if Sandrock or Blas don't take it first. We haven't heard from Sandrock in a while. Hope he's alright. I'd really prefer if someone either than myself grabbed this as I just played the turns before SK. But I'll push on if there are not takers.

I've been meaning to grab this again but between my wife, son, and then myself getting sick, its been a loooong couple of weeks. And I was really holding out hoping someone else would grab a turn.

DGIT4 has gotten a bit scary lately as mostly everyone has kind of, oh, disappeared. I know its gotten bad when Solar Knight has two posts in a row - no knock on you SK, you are just not the most frequent poster . We haven't heard from Sandrock or smellincoffee in ages. Oblivion has been awol since the last time he grabbed the game as well. Alerum is busy with school and Blas, well Blas I think is just busy with other things in life. It might be only SK and myself for a bit. I have a feeling DGIT4 might be the end of the road for the DGIT team.

Anyhow, I will start on this by this weekend if no one else does. I'll probably sit on it for a couple of days, but I do want to see where this game ends up.

I'm actually not that busy, I'm just scared of playing on DGT4 when I haven't played standard civ in months (last time was when I last palyed a set here) and when the situation here in the game seems to be pretty delicate. =X

C'mon Blas. Give it a go. While this game will be a tough one to pull out, we've already suffered our share of mistakes. Its unlikely a couple more are going to alter our rather bleak fate. Plus, we are really just building up at this point to take on China and survive. Its like riding a bike. Regular civ will come back to you... Take a short ride! 5 turns or whatever you are comfortable with. Try it. You'll like it.

I have to apologize. It turned into another really busy week and beyond downloading the save I haven't really had the opportunity to crack this open, which is frustrating considering the lack of progress we've made lately. I intended to work on this this week, but if anyone can play it before me, by all means, claim it here and go. If I don't see a got it from someone else, I still have it and will post that I've started. I expect to at least get going on this tonight...

Sorry for going AWOL like that. I really should have posted something. I had a computer crash when playing civ no less and I have yet to put it back on this machine. I think I'll be able to get it put on to a higher performance machine so I can play again. I've also been extremely busy with other activities and work and I never got around to doing anything else.

No problem Sandrock. Its good to know you are still around and doing fine, computer issues not withstanding. It must have been the spearman defeats tank crashes computer bug. I've been dragging my feet here trying to get some turns down on this as well. But with SolarKnight the seemingly only other participant at the moment, hopefully I'm not bugging him too much. Let us know when you are back on board and we'll be sure to leave the game free for Thursdays and Saturdays.

I believe its been agreed to abandon DGIT4 as a failed attempt for the team and move on. To continue the discussion on-going via PM started by SmellinCoffee, I'll post my reply here as well.


How about we move this discussion to the DGT4 thread for the time being. Using PM's, we either have to keep adding everyone's ids to send messages back and forth, or we will just miss out on part of the discussion. Heck maybe it will wake up one of the MIA's if they see activity there.

As for game type, we probably should decide if we want to a) continue the DGT path and attempt a demi-god game again or b) do a variant and then work it from there. Given our abandoned game, our first attempt at demi-god didn't go over so well. I would think we'd want to steer clear of a variant at DG level. Frankly I could go either way. I haven't really played many variants so that could be fun. But if we are playing under DGT, I almost feel we should play another at demi-god As for the civ, I'm open for anyone apart from our past civs.

Agreed. -0bliv- missed the first three PMs because I kept forgetting to add his name because it doesn't start with a letter like everyone elses. I'm not sure what happened to Sandrock, and I only see Alerum on AIM once in a blue moon.
