Difficulty levels

I've been pretty much stuck on Regent for a while. Because of that, I rarely fight in the modern era (about MI is as advanced as I get before Domination kicks in) and since I only play about an hour a day, after a while the game gets old and I just restart.

I'll probably move up to Monarch eventually, but with PTW, I'm sticking on Regent to play as/against all the new civs.

I was a Civ 2 Diety player. I've played two games at the Monarch level (third in progress) and I'm 1-1.

I am finding the CIV 3 AI to be much more of a challenge than CIV2, but the posts here in the forum are certainly helping me figure things out faster.

I play on Monarch, but I'm getting ready to jump to Emperor. How much harder is Emp than Monarch?

I'm stuck on regent for now, mainly because I have had to reform my entire way of playing this game. In Civ2 I used to be a kind, quiet little civ. I'm working on it.

Emperor - it's the first level I can lose at, but can win without using unnatural strategies which seem necessary at deity level. I'll try a natural strategy on deity soon, but I expect to lose!
