...And potentially we hope on the holiest of all Meleetian days, a day for fools, thunder roared and lightning struck upon the explosive ones. What General W called Battle Island is over. I expect that the Battle of the century is about to begin. Upon this battle depends the survival of Meleetian civilization. Upon it depends our own Simpleton life, and the long continuity of our institutions and our Empire. The whole fury and might of the enemy must very soon be turned on us.
Dinsog knows that he will have to break us on this continent or lose the war. If we can stand up to him, all the worlds may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world, including the Donuts, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted scientific civilizations.
Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that if the Celtic Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, 'This was their finest hour.'

Dang Whomp...that was inspirational! That duty bit was almost enough to make me want to play this next turn sober.

Almost. :mischief:

:salute: Commander Bugs, ready for launch. Armament includes two Special Weapons, four MK-46 torps, four Tomahawks, and a dozen Air Force prepared box lunches. :salute:

Just save the hard-boiled eggs out of them. If you throw them out the door of your plane, they have been known to sink small vessels.

There is panic in the streets. We need an extension for a couple days.
We need to keep our friends close...and our enemies closer. Considering the fact that our 'friends' will eventually be our enemies...

We need to keep 'nuts and MIA on the sidelines. I am sure TNT is pulling out all diplomatic stops to get some help. I say we could offer Engineering to MIA to stay out of this war.

"We are your friends, and we will reward you for honoring our treaty. Engineering for neutrality."

...or something like that. It's an option. Similar post in 'nuts diplo thread a moment ago.

We want to give them a MA tech that they haven't started researching just for honoring their treaty???

I say no to that. If they want to ruin their rep by attacking us, I think that we could get the Nuts into the mix just as easy by telling them that we have already given them 4 techs with nothing as of yet in return. and that all discrepancy will be forgiven by them attacking MIA :D

Maybe we tell MIA that they might want to get into the action of carving up TNT-land early. They can get in now and get a goodly share of the loot... err, cities. Or they could come in later and get the leftovers. They wouldn't want us to get too big of a lead land-wise. Maybe suggest that they land on the opposite shore and present TNT with a two-front war.

I say play it cool with MIA for now. We have signed the treaty, and I'm sure in retrospect our eagerness to do so will be apparent now that we have begun our police action. But I agree with Bugsy that their unit mix will surely weigh to the defensive, and fighting through jungle is no mean feat.

Besides, at present, we are barely engaged AND have the naval forces to transport a midling SoD to MIA's coast. I don't think they want a peice of this yet.

Again, I say wait with MIA. Perhaps Tubs or Whomp could try to catch Fe on-line. If we want a reproachement with MIA, I say look for some trade.

No reason to kiss MIA behind... it will make them wonder why.

For symmetry reasons, wouldn't it be fun if the Nutters took on MIA though? :D

I'm with Crakie... It's on the same level of conceding when we were in negoriations for the non-aggression pact. If you appear weak they will attack. I think that we should presume the "aloof but not too put off" stance.

Might be fun to watch the nutters. The greeks probably don't have the navy to join in. Though getting their GA out of the way might be a good idea.
