Diplomacy, who is interested in more?

Magnus I think you might be right! My Muslim influences are going to probably be the last thing to arrive in your fine fleck of dirt! And when they get there they probably won't last to long!:jesus:

RichardIII- How many players do we have so far?

Date is good for me. Time to find the game somewhere and read the rules and stratguides.

I am going to assume anyone squabbling about a holy war on this thread is doing it to try to vote for 15th March.

So...

Flatlander Fox
Magnus
Beerman
Emporer Sneefix
Palehorse 76

Total = 5 so far.

When we add Adamski (if?) that takes us up to one player from the total. FFox, have we heard from him lately?

PS given the number of diplomacy newbies, I may also try to organize a fake year's worth of turns if anyone wants it starting on March 10, designated Civdip (training) 002. Any countries not played in the training exercise by real people will be played by ME, just to guarantee a few surprises. The countries used in the training game will NOT correspond to the countries in the real game.

He wrote me an E-Mail alluding to this...

Also, I think that KoC said something about playing too.

So we shouldn't have a problem with players.

We may have enough for a Moderate and expert game... Four more players!!!

I will scour the forums, and look for more players. I should be able to find a few more.

If you're still looking for players, I'd be interested in giving it a shot. I haven't played in a while, but I have the game at home, so I could probably reacquaint myself with it...

Let me know.

:D

I can set you up in a game no problem. I am working the issue on two games, maybe the future G.M. and I will have to work something out.

Miaow?

We will be kicking off sometime around March 15th, so I think that we are looking at two games already, one involving the players from our current game, and a new game that almost has enough players now.

Or we can break it into moderate game and expert game.

Regardless, there will be a game starting on the 15th, and all who show serious interest will be included!

Comments?

Sounds good. How many people are signed up now?

My only comment would be map selection. I suggest starting with the standard map. Its simple, classic, and everyone is equal. Good place to begin & learn.

We are definitely only playing the standard map for now... If we get a game or two under our belts, then MAYBE we can go for other variants.

But the standard is still the best:).

I am morally opposed to most of the variants, except for my own "Nuclear Diplomacy," which in 1986 ended in a fistfight between the US/UK and French players.

So, yeah, standard for now. This ad-hoc stuff is chaos with all the dipcivfanatics we've been finding. We'll have to set up a specific e-mail address for registrations. Give me a few hours.

I think it's full, but, mind if I play? I've been playing the CPU version for the last two years, so...

If someone doesn't show, then we will make room for you.

Right now we have:

Expert Game: (GMed by RichardIII)

Kitten of Chaos
Flatlander Fox
Oliver (Current Russkie player in CivDip001)
Alphaman

Moderate Game:

Emperor Snefix
Palehorse 76
The Newbie
Shakey
Adamski
Toasty

Undecided: Magnus (in), Beerman (in), RBrooks, Richasses II (if in then in Expert game),

The undecided folks should figure out which game they want to be in. I will be sending out an E-mail to those who are playing now, to determine if they still want to play in another. I HIGHLY suggest that if you have never played a PBEM game before, you need to play in the moderate group.

This list is not concrete, if you think you are catching the shaft with the group I put you in, just post here and I'll change you up. Or I can put names into a hat, and then pull out two games and the respective countries!:)
