Diplomatic Relations

Basically they are going to try to extort writing out of the nutters with the knowledge that they have probably been attacked. AND share it with us

Who are KC Venters and Skippyshutt? I'm

Nice trump card. Bravo!

Well played :goodjob:

This reminds me of The Marathon Man and we have the oil of clove... :D

I'm beginning to think we need some bridge players here rather than poker players. Bridge players communicate their strengths in open auction, while poker players do thier best to hide their weakness.(..)
That would be me. Bridge is an even bigger hobby of me than Civ even. Too bad I'm not on your team ;)

Sure you could be on our team Rik, just go post in the sign up thread

Here's a PM this morning from Fe3333au. He is trying to understand our superior geekness skills.

Greetings major Idiot Whomp

I had the pleasure of meeting with your team who put forward the scenario of TNT and D-Nuts being at war and that D-Nuts have lost a city ...

Unfortunately I was rushed and therefore even with rereading the log ... I have failed to grasp the evidence ...

Could you provide a succinct document for us to peruse ... in particular interest is the specific knowledge that differentiates the loss of city between D-Nuts and the other rival ...

Foreign Minister,
Based on our knowledge of F11 we know where we stand in land area. With this knowledge we have disseminated the possibility of a lost city on the other continent to either war or volcano. Volcano seems highly unlikely and without military techs we presume it happened to Donut.

Another thing that makes us suspect something is happening is based on Donuts request for a delayed play. I suspect their team needs to discuss quite a few things.

Tubby is our valued Idiot Shaman so if you need more I have cc'd him on this conversation.

Hopefully this helps. This is a copy of the conversation.

BTW I dl'd AIM last night so hopefully I did it right and I can join the next conversation.

Should I show him the F11 spreadsheet? At most I'd give him the last few turns worth for the land area and tell him that we have not settled a city in that time.

The spreadsheet would give too much info, but at the same time it can be faked. So it's of no use to show it to another team.

Here is what I am sending fe please edit or confirm that this is ok

We had not settled a new town nor have we created a military unit. So there is really no explanation other than war or volcano that could explain such stats. Also of note is that TNT joined a worker/settler into their capital last turn

My only concern is that we are giving them spoilerish info they can't see on their own by looking at their save. 44 sq. mi/100 is not on their F11.

I would prefer to wait until MIA asks for more detail.

This is a concern. I wouldn't want to get in trouble with the admins.

It may be enough (diplomatically) to tell them that we can't give them full disclosure of how we reached our conclusions due to spoilers but that we are confident in the information and encourage them to use it in their discussions with D'nuts to see what shakes loose.

Poker-face to shake the D'nuts up; Bridge-face to let them know what help is available.

I've been following the discussion in the Geeks/Numbers forum (by follow I mean reading the words, having my eyes glaze over and then drooling a lot).

Should we communicate to MIA that warefare on the other continent is a reasonable conclusion, but we are not certain who is :spank: whom and that they should use cautious, obliqe statements to try and get info?

I guess I'm relying on the numbers wizards for input on this one.

we will know more after our save comes in. Whoever's score dips is in serious trouble.

If they both dip then, they might take each other out of the running altogether.

I'm almost positive it's D-nuts who have lost a city (or cities...). They have been the ones ahead in land area the entire game. They were the first with a second settler.

Intersting to watch. All those games manipulating the AI have given you guys some insight into manipulating humans.

I'll just repear what I've said before: it is to our advantage to open the kimono as wise as we can so long as the other sode reciprocates. If we discover that they are hiding anything snap on the iron underwear and take it to them. If they know we are holding enough points to make game in No Trump it will make them think about defensive play rather than offense. That is to our advantage.

I'd be reluctant to send them even part of the spreadsheet. Tubs is OUR secret weapon and we don't want to give them Tubs' secret shaman herbs. Hmmm, unless maybe we could trade it for all their gold and tech for the next 250 turns. :mischief:
