Diplomatic Relations

Pretty please, can the diplomats break their conversations down to a few lines of summary? I can't read all that crap :)

I enjoy reading the conversations in the spoiler tags, but a summary in the main post would be useful for those who don't wish to follow the diplo maneuvering.

Boys and girls, that's why we have a summary thread ;)

I will give you the short version and do people still want the full conversation with a summary?
SUMMARY
--Donut is trying to extort 3 techs out of MIA for Writing.
--We had some difficulty explaining to MIA that they need to tell Donut that MIA doesn't need writing since they will have it soon (they don't need to explain where they are getting it from). We are done in 8 or less.
--In a perfect world it would be 3 vs. 1.

Here's what I propose we send MIA to propose to Donut.

1. Have them offer wheel for writing. Donuts need to start moving towards their UU at some point.
2. The offer can expand if Donut offers more information.
3. If yes, then MIA can start with 3 questions.
A. What is Donut researching and MIA can reciprocate.
B. What government does Donut want to be in and MIA can reciprocate.
C. Who does each team know and what is the relationship.

Then the conversation can spoke off from here.
If Donut is researching philo and wants to be a republic then there's the possibility the 3 of us can research together.
Donut gets WC, stops philo and gains cash till CoL can be coordinated and finished beforehand.
KISS starts CoL.
MIA fiinishes masonry and starts HBR for Donut and their UU and KISS.
Everyone gets republic, CoL, philo, HBR and masonry in the process.

If Donut wants to be a monarchy then we can all help each other get to our respective goals and work together to eliminate the scourge of the earth.

Thoughts?

Perfect in a perfect world, but don't misunderestimate (tm) the greed of pvp players.

I still think that we need to assume dnuts already got philo and chose lit as the free tech. Anything else would be underestimating them and that's always dangerous.

It's why we've suggested MIA be a little more forceful in their discussions. I mentioned this very same thing about the possibility of lit, SGL and GLib but they didn't understand why Donut would ask for 3 techs in exchange for writing. It could be because they don't know anyone but MIA.

MIA should understand, they wanted three techs for alphabet. Not that I'm bitter or anything ;)

Well, when the chat ended it was about 7 o clock in the morning and I had to get some Z's. First thing in the morning (well lunchtime) I posted a brief in the diplo thread. The wonder of B's efforts will soon pay off ;) .

Thanks Whomp... I cannot speak for everyone, but I think I will rarely read the full version. If nobody objects... it's up to you :)

I sometimes read the whole thing. But I have better things to do. I would still save them on your hard drive for future reference. A transcription of the conversations are always a good thing to pull out when someone goes against what they said. ;)

Just to let you guys know I'm fine. I lost internet access and I'm currently at Starbucks posting. Hopefully I will be back online tomorrow. Don't worry about me I'm fine.

you're drinking again aren't u? please dont drive. do you need me to wire money?

I lost internet access and I'm currently at Starbucks posting
well that's reason enough to invoke fuedin with he we're not allowed to name. it's all his fault

This is the pm MIA has sent to Nutters asking for contact and research talks:
Spoiler :
Dear Citizens of the great Doughnut Nation

We were wondering if there is a reason for your continued silence and lack of will to meet? ... We assumed a willingness on your part to open dialogue when we received your trade proposal.

Yet, we have repeatedly requested, through many avenues, to arrange a chat meeting with your representatives ... concerning of course the finer details of your knowledge swap proposal ... and receive only silence and then recently, a message indicating that no-one was available ...

As mentioned in our correspondences, MIA cannot agree to this document as it stands ...

We are well on the way to gaining the knowledge of Writing as it is ... and since we have noted your lack of certain 'choice' technologies and also sense aggressive vibes percolating from other sources on your continent ... We merely contact you in the perception of the possibility that you may be interested in a mutually beneficial exchange ...

We therefore logically assumed that you would be very eager to trade fairly with us ... if we are mistaken please correct us ... and we will not badger you ...

Therefore we again request audience with our respective diplomatic representatives ... in order to speedily discuss other options that we feel would be fairer to both parties ...

Heed this, the longer you delay discussion ... the less valuable Writing becomes ...

Awaiting your prompt reply ...

Yours sincerely

MIA Foreign Department

Emperor.Napolean - Foreign Minister
Kentharu - Doughnut Ambassador
fe3333au - Aide and Scribe to the Department

Nuts stall and say the cannot do chat? Seemingly not interested in dealing w MIA.

Very well put by MIA. :bravo:

This was along with the save
Dear KISSers,

Here is turn 42.

And my foreign ministry has instructed me to pass along a bit of
correspondence that we recieved from the Doughnuts.

Hope you enjoy! Some very interesting stuff in there - I'm sure your
team idiot shamans will delight to know.

Long live the Friendship of our Peoples.
- General W, President of MIA

From D'nuts:
To Emperor Napolean, MIA Foreign Minsiter,
kentharu, MIA ambassador to Doughnutia,
and the fine people of MIA

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Robi D and I am the newly
elected Foreign Affairs consul for Doughnutia. While I do not
officially take office for a couple of turns I am able to begin trade
negotiations with your fine country. Firstly, I would like to
apologise for the delay of our reply to your offer to negotiate, but
we had a couple of major events coincide. Firstly their was our
recent elections and secondly we had met the nation of TNT in our
travels. We welcomed them with open arms to which they responded by
trying to put a knife in our back. Rest assured we will punish their
treachery severely, but I do advise you to be weary in your dealings
with these warmongering fools if and when you meet them.

Now to get our trade negotiations off to a start, we are willing to
trade Writing for Warrior Code, wheel and ceremonial burial. Please
take this offer and discuss it with your government. I can be reached
via PM on the forums or via messenger at the address
XXXXXXX

Thank you for your patience

Robi D , Foreign Affairs Consul of Doughnutia

They obviously don't understand the value of writing has dropped precipitously for MIA.Chief Idiots need to use words like this to sound smart

Donuts are not dealing from a lot of strength here. IMO they should be a lot more interested in partnering with MIA at this point.

I wonder if they think that they'll be able to rob MIA and then still be up on techs against them.

Or if they will propose the same deal to us. It's sad that they just met TNT. It is funny about the backstab though. It would be funny if MIA came back in a few turns with the same 3 techs for Lit and/or Philo

The game is afoot!

Let's put the info in the hopper then wait and see.

While everyone's contempt for the Nameless One is palpable, we can't confirm this information. It's easy to believe about TNT, but the Nuts could be simply looking to clear the continent early.

We need more information before we can decide, but we either need to...

A) Three way dog-pile TNT then MIA/KISS dogpile the D'Nuts and go mano y MIAo.

B) Try the protracted, bloddy, TNT vs. Donughts war with the Green People pulling the puppet strings.

Again, we may need more information before we decide, but we should come up with a KISS concensus and then find out what MIA has in mind.

I can't wait to meet TNT...
