Direct 11 crash

Could someone please help with this.... I have been playing Civ 5 since launch with no issue's but recently I am experiencing random turn freezes.I need to Alt tab to desktop and am prompted by a box with two options "program not responding check online for a solution " & "close the program". I have gone into config files and noticed that there is a file saying "direct 11 crash then some numbers and the date! I am using the most popular Mod something (Alpha Mod) 27 new technologys, Units ect and as you might be aware due to my termanology I am not too computer literate but any positive help would be appriciated.. I have a decent spec machine running windows 7 64 bit with a GTX460 Overclocked Graphics card

I guess that's just a generic crash due to not enough power.
Civ5 needs really much power, and if you then, during some 100% processor cycle, try to tab out...then even more power is needed.
I suggest you try it with the mod in DX9. If it appears then too, then the problem might be somewhere else.
