Disc 2 Installation problems

Greetings,

I got Civilization IV in February and still haven't been able to play it. The problem lies with inserting the second disc during installation. Upon doing so a window appears that reads "catastrophic failure" and this closes the install shield. I tried multiple copies, computers, and called tech support. So far, nothing has helped. Any thoughts on this?

To check whether your CD is bad, you can try to copy the contents of the CD your hard drive.

Thanks for showing me the older thread. I already exchanged copies and the second one had the same problem, so I assumed it was my computer. I may be in deep trouble though as more than 90 days have elapsed since I bought the game. I'll try your tip though when I get back home from work. I am also going to try to return it anyway.
