DisNES II "A Twist of Fate"

OOC: Psychopaths know no temporal boundaries. ;) I blame everything on Butterfly Effect! I know at the very least Commissars are an invention of the French Revolution, but I'd imagine with the bloody goings on in France here, something similar was deployed by Silver, so a similar transmission is plausible. Now, here's to hoping Storm got his orders in and they consisted of more than a paragraph...

From King Edward VII of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and France

After much consideration, we have decided to accept the treaty with one minor modification. Due to a seperate agreement already reached between Aragon and the United Kingdom, Toulouse is to remain a part of the Duchy of Aquitaine. Otherwise, we have no qualms, and await the agreements of peace from Savoy and Burgundy.

See this is why you guys needed to specifiy the borders since most definitions of Languedoc include Toulouse ;)

Au contraire; Languedoc is that far southern territory known today as the region of Languedoc-Roussillon. Toulouse is in the region of Midi-Pyrenees. :p

OCC: Wow, I never wanted France to cease to exist in this war just severly limit their military so they could never threaten all of us again.

I guess that is what happens when Fanatical French Monarchs fight to the end. It was an annoying war that ruined much of Western Europe but it will be fun to see how the United Kingdom of Great Britain and France does.

France still exists. Its been unified with Great Britian as I intened it too. My enemies have won practically nothing for all those years of bloody warfare. So I am pleased as the new UKGBF is a larger threat to the power Iberia and Aragon then I could have beem. Hahah fools.

but I'd imagine with the bloody goings on in France here, something similar was deployed by Silver

I didn't specfically order such a thing. I didn't see it as nessecary my people were more than adequatley motivated what with my enemies threathing the destruction of France and all...

Allow me, by the way, to express the admiration for UKGBF's devious conduct. As usual, the ones that stayed out of all the trully important wars until the last moment seem to have won the most from it.

That seems kinda silly, to get rid of your own nation.
No right-minded surrender-monkey would think of doing sucha thing... *shrug*
I can't complain though since the UK should own France IRL. ;)

DIS!! Get your butt on

OOC: Dis, somewhat random thought, but, since we had a diplomatic corps sitting on a British ship all the way from London to Columbo, shouldn't we possess a pretty good working idea of the Circum-Africa route? ;)

Thats the Modern Languedoc Region ;). The historical Languedoc Province consisted of lands that were 80% of Languedoc-Roussillon, plus half of Midi-Pyrenees and its capital was Toulouse. Languedoc and Toulouse were split by the French government due to their tendency to seperatism.

:p indeed.

Were your diplomats mapping the latitudes of all points and currents? Were they viewing the british maps? Do you have atlantic-worthy ships and skills?

Maybe in a while ;)

Languedoc has been redefined all too often, I suppose. However, Toulouse is the historical capital of Aquitaine, and of the royal-held County of Toulouse at a later date.

According to Britannica Languedoc only became a gouvernment, including Toulouse, in the 15th century; the century after which I take over, and thus could define Languedoc at whim unless silver2039 made a more recent change. In any case, my point - and my smilie - stand. :p

Btw, Dis, with the French war nearing its end, are there any chances of this update coming on time? ;)

Well at least I hope that it will come earlier than the last one; this turn is going to be even more decisive than the last one, as far as I am concerned at least.

This decisive turn will outdecisiveturn all the other decisive turns! :p

OOC: Indeed it will be. That or it will just go on as it has been for awhile. :p On another note, whose orders are you missing, Dis?

Oh, trust me, I made moves that will either seal my doom or reverse the situation completely. ;) Although Dis might just get eviler-than-thou again and turn it into a stalemate...
