On another note how come you haven't asked catherine the great to suply you with some resources? she is pretty willing to give you gems if you want them :p. Also why the heck is timbuktu only size 8??? It should just get as many fishing boats out there as possible or i think you might have trouble keeping up with the gem ridden catherine. Green faces doesn't hurt you and in hrule you will get infinite happiness... Every fish with a lighthouse is still 5 food 4 commerce even without extra health...

Sorry for being off-topic, but how did you do that zoom that you did on the first page that showed everything from a shallow angle?

Just scroll with the mouse or use pageup/pagedown.

It looks different from the normal zoom, I mean. Like combat zoom but not in combat; you can see that the view is not a normal rectangle in the mini-map.

flying camera . You have to allow in the ini file ( in BTS/Assets I think)
and then in game you do Ctrl Alt F

Ozyar, yes bad play, but I'm like that.

We are happy that mansa followed our wisdom(i also added some things i ment to do in the last update but somehow disapeared  awkward  ). So something new and something that should have been done in the last update..

EDIT: upon opening my save again i see that you didn't use my save at all? so you chose to play without alternation at all... I suggest you replay the save i gave you last round as it might impact things...). Also someone else should probably modify it from now on...

The years to 1300 AD.

Lost for some time in a vortex of confusion , the players in this drama, and the historians who try to tell it, both deluded and lost in hallucination as the gods fight for control of the destiny of Mali.

Here's what we know happened in these years.

Cities founded,

That last one looks like trouble. Pacal has an Apostolic Palace as a Buddhist. We may find things to disagree on later.

What ever's up there we will send Macemen in better boats.

Mali's dark ages will give way to Liberalism very very soon. Then better ships to sink the barbarians triremes.

The gods are not happy. Barbarians descend on all nations - the dark ages are here.

Although some of the other gods are cruel, inflicting barbarians and dangerous quests on you, others have been kind, filling your world with fish.

I am a god of war and knowledge. In order to aid you I have enacted the following great miracle.

I grant you a Holy Fortress, so powerful that it may sail upon the waves, and to guard your fortress I grant you three flights of angels. Let the Cherubim, the Seraphim, and the Nephilim guard you on your quest to approach the Holy Island, and may the also aid you in your struggle to claim it in the name of your god.

Waste these holy gifts in warfare against the civilized world and I shall know it and curse you and your people for seven generations hence. Use them wisely and only to fulfill the will of the Gods and I shall bless you and your people with prosperity.

Thus speak I.

Mansa's visions become tormented. In them he sees his world split in three. Three parallel worlds with the fate of Mali being torn from one to another. Schisms in time and space, destiny that splinters and reforms. Each reality played with by a different god.

Mansa shouts for his prophets and alchemists. A decision is needed. To honour which new god ; Ozyar, Svient, or Abismiliard. By chosing one and only one , the cosmos will become one and whole again.

A decision is made after studying entrails of a holy bat. The god Svient will be honored. Sacrifces are made , and Mali moves into the 15th century.

Barbarian horsemen . All over the kingdom . Svient is not a kind god !
Spoiler :

Barbarian hose archers take Walata, kill workers , and threaten the gold fields in Djenne. Macemen in Djenne fight and win

Barbarian privateers . Either divine evil from Svient, or Abodohel's bararian pirate navy. Either way, we need better boats.

Trebuchets, a knight or two , a musket, and later cannon ships for the barbarians.

We will take the Holy Mountain and spread the Holy Religion.

Malinese destiny rolls forward.

Hilarious read. Make this a regular series of games with Flouzemaker-style leaderheads and it'll be as popular as ALC.

I had just added my change to Svient's map. If the other "gods" making changes do the same you won't face a decision over what save to use. Each "god" just loads up the save from a previous "god" then adds their changes and posts their save. That way the last save will have the changes from all the gods.

So say Svient makes Change A by adding barbs. Then I come in and mod his save to make change B. My save would then include changes A + changes B, in other words no tri-partite world views or choices of which "god" to accept changes from.

As for the high-tech units, I thought you needed some help w. the number of barb privateers around and the defenders at the city. Besides, I figured what I gave in one save I could take away in another after you'd captured the city, or another god could take away at their own whim. But sorry, hadn't realized I would be breaking your rules.

*goes to look over the allowable changes again*

{edit}Damn, we aren't supposed to change tech-levels either. I really like this idea in general though. Maybe a game with a pantheon of deities, each allowed to make changes, some working for the player, some for other civs, and a poor hapless mortal caught in the middle. There's a lot a "deity" can do in worldbuilder that isn't allowed under the current rules though, we'd need a new set of some sort. {/edit}

I like the Idea of this becoming a regular series :D

I dont think beeing a God we need to care about some set of rules :p The rules will only make the 'Miracles' predictable and boring in the end. Just avoid overkill changes...

Goding here should be similar to beeing the Dungeon Master at a classic Pen and Paper RPG - you dont play "with" nor "against" the player. Just trying to add some new twist to the game. Each God should keep the changes at a scale, where the Mortal/Player has a reasonable chance to deal with those, and might have some fun with it.

The great prophet Atisha brings word from the lord Egnarts, he commands the people of Mali to take in the poor and the outcasts of the world! Spread the good word of Egnarts the merciful!

Over all the pantheon yes, I think I agree. However individual gods may not choose to be balanced. Some might want to be "Evil" gods, and do smitings and such, others might want to be "Good" gods and do only good things around the world. So some people might be very against the player, others very with them.

I think the key might lie in balancing the for and against. Though I think the pendulum should be allowed to swing pretty widely.

Maybe each group should work out their own rules for each game.

@egnarts: My God! What have you wrought! Very impressive experiment. I'm interested in how he'll respond.

The war god smiles upon you..... he gave you presents from a future time
(p.s no rules break ;) )

P.S too late for being first :( But had to test the map .... mice will have fun with this
