hmm... I could also add like Scandinavian gods too... and maybe egypt, but that'll require lots of participation. so until we hit over 20, we're gonna stick with Greek gods only.

And... there was no concept of socks back then. We're gonna start at Silver Age.

In order to make an intelligent measurement of value, you are going to need to provide some sort of framework for what you mean by better.

Better, as in, more fun? You will likely have to determine this yourself, depending on what you find most enjoyable: throwing mud on someone, spraying them down with a hose, or blowing on a baby's face so it makes funny faces.

Better, as in, more powerful? Traditionally, the most powerful gods were lords of the Sky, but its kind of hard for those three elements to fight each other anyway.

Better, as in, most morally upright? They are all pagan infidel idols, and are all equally sinful

A) No. Prior to Muhammad's initial conquest of Arabia, the Arabs were polytheistic pagans.
B) If you are going to have only gods from real mythologies, how are you going to work out conflicting hierarchies/creation stories? I again protest the idea of importing gods from Earth mythologies.

Well, it's not as much fun, but making your own gods is crazy and, with Nuke kids idea, almost certainly useless.

Well... then I would ask the rest of the players to change their little bios and attitudes towards this "build-a-god" workshop more seriously and within reasonable limits, and not steal gods from other literatures.

EDIT: @germanicus: I won't get irate, but there is a little text you should check out... its called the City of God by St. Augustine. In short, you are wrong. Also, the Roman gods sucked initially. They stole some meat and potatoes from the Greeks and became more than personifications of objects. For instance, Janus, the God of Doorways, from the word Ianua, "door." Creative, that.
