DLL - Various Mod Components

Have you considered increasing the number of players from 22 in your DLL similar to Gedemon's standalone DLLs?

When I got through the "bugs from the updates for the 3.18 patch and BNW" I'm going to look at increasing the number of players and compatibility with WB .civ5map files (as there's almost no point doing the former if the latter doesn't work)

But don't hold your breath for this as I'm busy for most of August

Lately I have become good at holding my breath :eek2:

However I understand. Its more of a wish-list item rather than a necessity.

WHoward, I don't know where you find the time to do all this for us to begin with...the last time I tried multitasking, I chipped a tooth while walking and chewing gum at the same time.

"Utils - Modular Unit Panel (GK)" has been retired and I have no plans to make a BNW specific one as all the required code is in "UI - Condensed Promotions (GK)" which is also compatible with BNW

Please ignore, post was answered earlier in this thread...silly me. It was about the DLL being presently incompatible with .civ5map files.

Both the threads of mods/changes have so many interesting options. Its very cool and also quite intimidating.

Im having a bit of trouble figuring out exactly what the setup is. I think its this.

1. The DLL - Various Mod Components contains the full list of changes in the OP. The only way these can be disabled is by editing the xml.

2. The Pick n mix site offers additional changes that can be downloaded separately and enabled in the normal manner via in game mod browser. However many of these require that 1. already be installed.

...

Im not completely happy with that explanation though, I think I might be wrong because you can download individual "DLL required" mods from the pick n mix.

Im sorry if this was explained already.

Nope. Nothing that changes the game is actually enabled within the DLL by default (only API changes are "always on" - so if nothing ever calls them they never do anything)

The "micro-mods" (any that require the DLL) on teh web-site enable features within the DLL (and also usually add extra functionality via XML/SQL/Lua)

brilliant thanks for the quick reply mate.

I just install the dll then picknmix ... it certainly makes sense.

Thanks for all the work.

@jadel: I just wanted to point out that only the few picknmix mods that Whoward indicates require the DLL, need it to function. Most of his picknmix mods work fine without the DLL. However, if you want to use pre-made maps (anything other than random map scripts,) you have do do so without the DLL and its associated picknmix mods.

That was confusing me at first too.

Ok got it thanks for the help. Still plenty to choose from either way as you say.

Attached zipped DLL should fix this. Backup the original CvGameCore_Expansion2.dll in "...\MODS\DLL - Various Mod Components (v 20)" and then unzip this one over the top. The crash, if using a .civ5map, was almost instantaneous after the setup screen, so you'll know within 30 seconds of starting a game if this fixes it for you. If it doesn't, first check the CustomMods.log file and make sure the DLL version is being reported as "Pick'N'Mix BNW DLL - Startup (Version 21a - Build Jul 29 2013 22:32:56)" (it's the Version 21a that's the important bit)

Special thanks to Gunnergoz for helping me track this down.

EDIT: DLL can be found on post #90 of this thread - http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=479735&page=5

Isn't half a dozen CTD's in an hour normal for Civ 5? :D

Not unless there's also at least one thermal cut-out and/or "blue screen of death" in the same time frame

I know this is a big request, but any chance you could edit the source to show show the changes you've made?

I am trying to merge Civ IV diplomacy mod (already merged with 34 civ dll) with yours, but trying to figure out who changed what is quite difficult.

Either you have not looked at the code, do not know what you are looking at or do not know what you are doing.
