I have ordered up forges everywhere, please whip them as soon as possible and start Colossus in the marked city. As for techs we need Monarchy rather soon - we have so much food we need to grow and get a higher happiness cap. So I started us on Mysticism. Sailing would be interesting as well, as the great Lighthouse would be totally dominating with a potential Colossus build. Yet I think we should not try for it, as it delays Monarchy too long - and we don't have a second good coastal city which could build it anyway. All cities are on high commerce/scientists setup. We'll get a GS in 7, I think we should either use it for an Academy or save it for bulbing Philo.

Looks like Comic Sans, the font all typographers like to kick. By the way how do you go about replacing the font in the game, and what are the SG rules? As a lurker I forget.

Does comic sans have lower case letters? Go to blambot.com for a bunch of great comic fonts. We use webletterer for sword of the flings.

And to rules for this game, evidently, punctuality is not among them. Just some stuff about backstabbing the bajeebus out of everyone.

It's too loopy to be flat out Comic Sans proper. Compared the font imho chose, Comic Sans is almost respectable; not the sort of font one should sully the likes of CIV with!

oh oh - we have a team difference of opinion. I looked at the save and there are at least 4 city locations that we should try for. The only problem is that our economy isn't that hot.

I'm also not sold on the tech path. Sure, monarch will help our happy cap, but whipping forges will also increase it by 1 (gold). I think the better path is Alphabet, Currency, Code of Laws and trade for the missing religious techs.

I'm not in a hurry to settle our interior. 20% science as awful. I'd get us back up to something north of 50 before settling more.

I agree that Alphabet is a more useful tech (and CoL more so). However, at this rate Alphabet will take forever and three days. For Monarchy, we need to research Mysticism, Meditation, and Priesthood first. Part of me wants to just hang out and research the prerequisits while we're so slow. The other part wants to make the dash for Alphabet and use it to trade for the stupid techs (if, by that time, anyone wants any of our techs for trade).

I'll play tonight. I shall run 0% science to build up some cash ... that way, I don't have to make the call about which tech not to research.

Evidently CoL woulsd be very useful as well. Courthouses would cut our costs drastically. I'm fine with either way. If we get Colossus it should speed up research as well.

been thinking about colossus ... wouldn't GLHouse be better in that we don't have to actually work the water tiles to generate commerce?

Edit: Did anyone else notice that the whole 'what font is that' question just sailed straight past imhotep? Did anyone else notice that I didn't play last night ... tonight for sure .
