Do barbarian battles count towards GG?

Does winning battles against barbarians, particularly inside your borders, count toward the emergence of Great Generals?

No. This only gives xp to your unit, and only if your unit's xp is less than 10.

Yeah, 10XP is the limit versus barbarians, but if you are fighting animals I think you can't boost your XP above 5!

Yes, the animal limit is 5; which really sucks if you manage to take out a bear.

The question has already been answered (no), but the fact you had to ask it indicates that maybe you don't realize you can see how many points you have towards the next GG on the F5 screen? If you did you could have found out yourself b just checking it before & after a barbarian battle ...
