Tattoos are fine if they are works of art.
A silly 'hello mum' tattoo is a bit pointless in my view.
No matter if you approve or not, a person's body is their own business, regardless.

PS
Pillage,
Are you going to tell me well-made traditional Japanese, Chinese or African tattoos are "bloody stupid?"

You may as well say that British culture is just as 'bloody stupid' too...

It is an ancient symbol to show my alliegance to Thor god of thunder.

Oh, yah? Well maybe I have one that is HUGE, and on my CHEST... and... how do I top your "Thor god of thunder"?

I tried.

Have a tatto pen lodged into your head!

That will prove you are hard as heck!

Heres one of mine (15 years and it still looks almost as good). :)

No, I'm not. I'm referring to tatoos in this country. I think they are extremely ugly and pretty stupid. If you want to get one, fine, I don't care, it's your own body do what you will. But I still think they're ridiculous.

I don't have one, I don't want one. However sometimes they look good if they are tasteful.

I am not into the pain thing either.... I am always afraid in a short time I would think, "What WERE you thinking!" But that is just me.... My friend has one that is kinda sexy on her. I guess it depends on the personality it is attached to. hmmmmm after reading my own words, wonder how I can justify the navel ring I have?

That's a real cool one, joespaniel! :)

But how will it look in another 15 years? Or when you're retired? :undecide:

If I ever got one I'd want it to be meaningful....but then again until they find a way to do it without a needle, I'm not getting one!

I would never want such a disgusting thing. Don't like girls who have them, spoiling their beautiful bodies with that.:undecide:

I have two large tattoos, one for each underarm. I was thinking of putting them on my upper arm first, but didn't see the point of having them hidden most of the time. I can always wear a long-sleaved shirt for a job interview. :D

And yes, after four years, I'm still comfortable with them, and had I come across the right picture, would have gotten more. :D They are a bit addictive... Especially if most of your friends have tattoos as well. :)

A modestly-sized Tazmanian Devil on my right bicep. It's my totem.

I voted "I dont have a tatoo but i think it looks nice," but it really depends on the tatoo. A little rose on a woman's ankle is nice. I've known women with rings tatooed on their fingers or anklets on their ankles (fancy that) and they've looked good too. I don't think I would ever get one for myself, but I choose to judge each tatoo on its own merits, rather than stereotype all of them ;)

I generally dislike most tattoos. The tat artist must be a good one, and even then, I only like maybe 1 out of every 6 I see. That said, I do have one tattoo. It is a black ankh on my back, between my shoulder blades. I got it because it is a symbol for life and fertility. Being between my shoulderblades, I have not seen it in months. :D If I were to do any more tat work, it would probably just be a larger ankh on my back over the current one. I like tats in general, just don't ever see many good ones and as for myself, I am too picky to be covered with them. I do like the one joe posted. And I have seen some similar dragons that I liked. Only thing I would get besides an enlargement of what I already have would be a devil face. :goodjob:

I don't have one, but have seen some that are real works of art. I would rather spend the $ on other things, like gas in my car, food on the table, and beer in my belly.

I will be getting one, not very big or colorful, but tasteful during the summer.

Whoa -- Now that looks like it will keep the beggars,
insurance salesmen, muggers and witnesses away!

I don't have any tattoos.

Nobody has offered me enough
dosh to advertise their company.

I have three, none of which I like that much.

I'm getting them burnt off, then I might try some others.

Perhaps various one's inspired by Russell Crowe's in Romper Stomper and Ed Norton's in American History X.

Definitely a dotted line around my neck, with the words "Cut along the dotted line" :ack:
