Nope. I'd never remember to write it, plus I think its kinda stupid. If you can't remember it on your own, its not worth remembering. Our Grade 7 teacher tried to force us into doing them, and put all sorts of "revelations about life" into it. Three words. "Crashed and burned"

There was a poll about online journals about a week and a half ago.

Anyhow, I hate them.

No but I should!

I have saved a ton of e-mails over the years with the hope of going through them and putting together something resembling a book someday...

I keep one that I carry with me, and protect with my life.

I kept an online one, but recently deleted it.

Its kinda different though. :p A journal that you keep to yourself is very different then one you show to the world...

Anyway, I've just recently started a typed one, for several reasons. One is password protection, which is better then any hiding spot, and the other is that I type much faster then I write.

How long have you had yours, Toasty?

My personal diary I have had since late November, my online ran for about the last month.

Only when I'm depressed. For some reason writing it down helps me get through it, although that's not why I write when I'm depressed. Just do. Some of my best poetry was written when I was depressed.

:) Same here. Whenever something bad is happening to me, or in the world, I just feel like writing. Gets my thoughts out.

which is why i want to write one now :(

No, but sometimes on vacation I write down what I see just for future reference. Usually on vacation so much stuff is happening at once that I cant even remember what I just had for lunch... :)

I managed to keep one for six weeks when I was about 12 or 13. Nothing before or after.

No, not at all.
Why record stuff unecessarily? If I want to remember it, I will, and see no reason to leave evidence of any sort...

I keep a diary of, er, specific events in my life with a ratings system etc. Helps me decide whether it is worth calling any of my, er, acquaintances again in the future. Y'know - no point bothering if the "conversation" is going to be boring or dissatisfying

yeah, I have one since 1992.
I've written a lot and about many things.
Im now in page 3200

I started one some weeks ago, but I then tore out the papers so that noone can see what crazy maniac I am :p

Seriously, I want to keep one but I just keep forgeting...

dont worry, we already know that :p

I used to keep one whole series of them thru my secondary school years (i.e. pre-PC years) until the first year I'm in university. Then I bought a PC, my first.

The journals became history. I think I still have them somewhere...

I just got so busy that I have no time to write stuff down; there's just so much to do in university, and worse, I stayed in the university dorms with pals...
