Do you like olives?

I have never encountered a more divisive fruit than the humble olive - people seem to either love them or hate them. There's no middle ground. Where do you stand?

I LOVE them myself - i like the way some countries serve them as a bar snack - beer and olives is a great combo

A mixture of green and black olives is definitely the best.
The only trouble with olives is that they are so good that you always end up eating too many before your meal and then fail to do proper justice to your food. So yes please, but not enormous plates of them.

Eugh. I absolutely hate olives. Their taste and smell just makes me want to throw-up. I hate them on anything. I hate them so much that I take them off anything. I can't eat anything that has ever been in contact with olives with the exception of olive oil. I love olive oil. It makes no sense whatsoever. I think that the taste of olives are too strong for my taste.

Surely a Greek salad is lettuce, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese and olives? Without olives it's just feta cheese salad. That would be like salade niçoise without egg or capers.
Eating olives is the ultimate test of how cool you are. If you can eat the olive and spit the pip out into your hand or napkin or whatever without looking like an oik then you're cool! I'm not.

I prefer mine stuffed with anchovies or marinated with garlic and chillies. For a good Greek salad they must be Kalamata olives.

Olives are fine, in small amounts. I do, however, LOVE olive oil - Sometimes I just take some bread, put olive oil and spices on it and eat it - it tastes great!

Re stuffed olives - anchovies and lemon (not together) are great stuffings but only in small doses (salty!). I too can do a whole can of black olives in a sitting no probs - esp Tesco's ones in the ring pull tin - heavenly!

Definitely love em. And that smiley swipin andycapp is correct. Kalamata in a greek salad or on the side of some spinachopita, yah buddy! Green is good, I like black better if eating them alone. Pimiento stuffed eh, black is yum. Muffaletta anyone?

I guess I'll provide the first ambiguous answer here.

I LOVE green olives. I've eaten almost twenty in a row in many occasions, either with beer or coca-cola (they are a very popular snack to be served in parties here in Brazil).

However, I hate - or better, I dislike - black olives. Never liked neither the taste nor the consistency.

Anyway, lacking the "undecided" option in the pool, I voted that I love'em.
