I find it sometimes difficult to "read" the map and determine how many moves I need to go from X to Y.
Therefore, I put it ON during sea exploration phases (just to be sure my galley can safely cross to that other, newly spotted island).

I never use the grid.

And I never get any movement mistakes, and I can calculate my city placements and such perfectly fine withoute black lines all over the place.

I had to choose other. I use it, but only once in a while. Not enough for "sometimes" in other words.

All the time. I can't remember why I first started doing it, but now it seems weird to me if there isn't a grid.

Never have and never will...

(anything to speed up the game I'll do, even a small thing like that)

I never really have the grid on because most of the time i forget it is there. :crazyeye: Once in a while ill be trying to figure out how far away something is and ill remember it. But not very often at all

I only turn it on to make sure I place my cities in the correct spot.

I don't use the grid because I like to play the game with the scenery in full view without invasive little black lines, and I think it adds to the game if you don't play with the grid on.

Tis only my opinion

Occasionally. I use it early for settlement. The grid is of in late game for the purpose of beauty and simplicity
;)

I played with the grid on back in Vanilla Civ3, but now that I've played enough games to understand the perspective, I no longer need it.

As per loads of people I use it for city placement and v. occasionally for war / movement.

Other than that give me a lovely "un-gridded" view!

I always played with the grid on until civ2. I don't know why but when I started playing civ3 I suddenly played with the grid on only in special cases such as founding a new city. So I voted "sometimes".
