Do you like animated time of day in Civilization VI? Even if you don't do you at least like to see the world, the cities and the units during the night or during sunset and sunrise? It seems worrying that after two livestreams, we have yet to see nighttime in the game. You can pick two poll choices If you want.

I like the animated time of day and want it to return.

I haven’t voted because this poll is really complicated. Combining what we want and what we expect in the answers muddies every option.

Why not just something like “yes” “no” and “don’t care”?

You pick the first if you believe it will definitely come back. You pick the second if you think it won't. You pick the third if you don't know (none of us really knows in reality) and want to see it back. You pick the fourth if you don't care, and you pick the fifth if you hated the feature or you prefer to play during daytime only. So if you want it to return, you can pick option 1 and 3. If you don't, you can pick 2 or/and 5. If you are neutral, you can pick 4. Sorry if the choices are confusing.

I really hope we do get a time of day, although I'm not hopeful we will unless they're gonna be working on that last before release.

Also problem is whether we think it'll return and whether we want it have been mixed inconsistently, 1 and 2 say nothing about if we want it and the opposite with 5 :p

The night looked beautiful, but I had a pretty difficult time seeing what I wanted to do to play the game and usually had if off.

I wouldn't mind it getting in eventually, but I hope they're spending that time working on other things right now.

It seems to have become the norm on this site that people don't create polls to find out what other forum members think, but rather to validate their own thoughts. So no, it seems polls can't be written as "Yes" or "No" choices, they have to be written as "Yes, because of original poster's opinion on yes" or "No, because of original poster's opinion on no".

Also, get off my lawn, internet.

Although it was cool to see things light up, it was a lot of buck for very little bang. Considering the huge increase in the amount of map assets, making them all light up seems to me to be very expensive both in developer resources and in the end-user's client resources for a feature that doesn't really add to gameplay.

Considering that we've seen a number of Wonder animations and there's no hint of day/night change, I'd say it's almost certainly not in the current plans.

I can't speak on behalf of other pollers, but I made this poll for two reasons. Firstly I wanted to learn if other fanatics find the absence of nighttime gameplay either worrying or as definite evidence for the exclusion of different times of day, and secondly I wanted to learn how many people want animated time of day to be in Civilization VII. Answering with a bland Yes or No, isn't my style.

After wrongly getting accused that I find people stupid on this site because I lack imagination and want to just validate my opinions without taking into consideration that different opinions exist, I simply don't think I will make another poll here. Some people pay too much attention to the stuff that matter little. It's simple, there are five choices, one of them will at least be a bit close to the thoughts of most people. If no choice represents your opinion, you can pick the one that's closer to it, If none is close, then you can ignore the poll altogether. I can't possibly get inside every reader's head in this forum and get his/her opinion before creating this poll, nor do I have the ability to edit already written responses and questions so that anyone is satisfied. Don't take this ranting as a personal attack or anything.

Since you took the time to write a thoughtful reply, I'll try to do the same, and also I'll try to tone down the snark from my earlier post.

Here's the issue, as I see it:

1. "I wanted to learn how many people want animated time of day to be in Civilization VII". Okay, I accept this, and take back my prior accusation, which I shouldn't have made in the first place, as it was an inference from the way the poll was written, but I wasn't inside your head and shouldn't have assumed to know what your objective was.

2. "Answering with a bland Yes or No, isn't my style." If that's the case, then you won't get the answer to No. 1 you claim to want. "Yes" and "No" are the responses that will give you that answer. The reasons why will come from the comment section, they don't have to be in the poll.

3. "I can't possibly get inside every reader's head in this forum and get his/her opinion before creating this poll". Correct, which is why I find it odd that you want to try and guess at people's opinions in advance, rather than finding out what they are through your poll.

Anyway, I want to apologize for the tone of my prior post. Accept or reject my feedback as you will. Either way, I hope you have a good day. :)

Maybe I'm not such a good poller, since I get carried away by my thoughts and can't put the short, simple answers the polls need in them. 😮‍💨 Anyway, have a good day too! :)

I never figured out how to turn this on in Civ6? :dunno:
Under Options you can choose a particular time of day or turn on Animated Time of Day and let it cycle.
