Do you think...They'll make a 9/11 Movie?

Will they ever make a trashy movie about September 11th?

It would probably star Jean Claude Van-Damme and Martin Lawrence. Basically it will be set in the future when the towers are rebuilt, but now they are quite a bit larger. Of course they wouldn't want any references to Islamic fundamentalism, so Van-Damme will be the evil Russian(?) organised crime boss. Martin Lawrence will crack a few jokes (look out for a cameo by Dave Chappelle!) and save the day. That's my Sept. 11 movie.

I was going to call it "The Two Towers", but that pig Peter Jackson used that name for the second Lord of the Rings movie. That guy is a sick *@%& for deliberately cashing in on the publicity surrounding those events!

i thought they already did.

I'm just pointing this out for fun. Not trying to hijack the thread into a political discussion.

9/11 has already been in a cheesy action movie. In the 1996 action film 'The Long Kiss Goodnight', the main character played by Samuel L. Jackson is told by shadowy government official that 4000 people will be killed in a fake terrorist event on American soil in order to "get some money out of congress". Of course this event will be "blamed on the Muslims, naturally".

It is a conspiracy web site, but to pay attention to that. As I said I am not trying to be political.

There will be a number of them, but none will exceed the documentaries released. I doubt any actor will be able to convey the raw emotion of the reporter crying as families are showing pictures of their missing loved ones...

Grrr...sometimes I have to remind myself I'm a liberal.

Sadly, I'm certain this will be the subject of bad historical/action type films. It's only a matter of time; no tragedy will remain an emotional sore spot forever. They've done it with just about every other war, major disaster, etc. I'm just not sure whether it'll be a low-budget made-for-TV one first, or a regular Hollywood one with major actors.

@ICBM: You want scary prescient conspiracy fodder? Did you see the first episode of that 'Lone Gunmen' X-Files spinoff show they had on a while back? It featured a shadowy govt conspiracy (of course) that planned to take control of an airliner by remote and crash it into the world trade center. This would then be blamed on the terrorists and used to declare an emergency and impose their agenda. That's one episode they'll never air again..
