OK captalism has taken the world, thus globalisation, so we can think of the world as a whole. Do you think it's a good sociaty, i.e, generally we are on the right track, crime, poverty etc are relatively minor and solvable problems etc.

OR

Do you think it's a bad sociaty. i.e we are on the wrong track (as history shows, it's wrong but we have to take it none the less) The problems are un-solvable with the current system and will eventually destroy it. etc.

or if you think I made it too simple, you can vote other.

Although I think most peole here are live in the west and are above middle class, but I'm sure many of you had many different experiences, looking forward for the poll result.

We live in a VERY BAD society

@cgannon: you think like that because you live in the US, try and go visit Africa, Center and South America, or even India, Bangladesh, I could go on and on...

Oh, I thought it was specific to our country. That's what I get, stupid me, for not reading the first post.

What do I think of our whole world? We have ALOT farther to go. Overall, I'd say its just past OK, in the area of Bad. We have alot of problems to fix that we are ignoring.

America is the world's leading nation, it leads world's trends. So if you think America is right, then the world won't be too wrong.

Good or bad, we respect the right of our neighbours to live. That's more than I can say about the locals.

Bad - there are too many areas of society which need to be adressed but are not being, globilisation is not helping. The world is probably more divided now into various groups (rich/poor , east/west , religion , free/enslaved ) then ever and the gaps are widening. Add in the non-aligned (i.e terrorist / radical ) groups and the mix is very volatile.

Good, or bad, compared to what?

Addressing it as a whole, I'd say that it's not good. Threre are still too much poverty and too much institucionalized suffering in the world.

However, historically speaking, I am confident that there never were a larger percentage of humans living wth dignity. I also think that the tendency is that such percentage grows even more.

So, is it good? no.

But it's getting better.

Regards :).

It has it's good and bad points, but there is enough good to put us on the road to triumph.

It's better then the past....but it's not in the 'good' category - or at least we shouldn't think so. If we think it's 'bad' then we are more motivated to try to improve it then if we thought it were 'good' - assuming we aren't down about it....

'Bad' and 'good' are completely relative terms. Relative to Utopia, society is 'bad'. Relative to the society of, say, the 19th century, it is 'good.'

I think it's worse then the past.

It has it's good and bad and enough good for SOMEONE to hit the road of triumph. Who cares if it's good or bad? If it's good enough, we'll take it. We are a race of compacent conformists.
