Do you use an anonymizer?

I just read an intresting article about anonymity in the internet in C't (german computer mag), so I got curious about how many of you are using a tool to anonymize themselves in the internet.

www.anonymizer.com I believe is one. It is free for normal web page viewing, but for viewing forums it has a cost.

The Internet connection that you may be using may be picking up private info on you. Like what sites you visit, what you like to look at, and virtually being a spy on you. They're not supposed to but they can if they write it in the member agreement.

An anonymizer is something that covers your web trail as you surf, to keep the ISP from getting your private info. At least, that's what I think.

To answer the question, no. There are plenty of easier ways to anonymize yourself online.

The anonymizers cannot hide you from your ISP. The anonymizers hide you from everyone after the ISP including websites and even when using email if you use the correct ones. There are some free email anonymizers out there. I sent an email to myself one time...took about half a day to get to me.

ZoneAlarm Pro seems to have the basic functions of an anonymizer. The only thing it doesnt do is hide your IP.
