Do you use carriers?

it was a deterrent, but not a definite defense. the Germans made several 'Amerika Bomber' designs. also, the big fear of the Cold War was the Soviets nuking America.

yea, I overstated my point. Didn't mean we we're immune, just made attacks unlikely. And cold war II is about to start! woot!

has anybody ever heard of any Russian/Soviet, or German carriers? The Germans in WWII started to build the Graf Zeppelin, but thats all that i know of.

The Russians had many aircraft carriers. Google the Soviet Navy.

I personally wish they had represented something other than the Nimitz in any of the civ games. Most aircraft carriers don't even look vaguely like that.

they're rusting away along w/ the rest of their blue water stuff iirc, they sold off one of the Kiev class CVs to India. the Royal Navy has a few operational carriers as do the French and even the Spanish. China is trying or has one, i think.

I'm not suprised the spanish have carriers, I've always respected the Spanish armadas lolz. Any 1 have a like to some carrier mods? I'm working on a seneario and want some different choices.

That´s wrong. Wyrmshadow thankfully even made Russian carriers. Here you can find the modern ones (among them the Kiew, Gorshkov and the Indian Vikramaditya and a lot of other modern carriers):

He even made a "what-if" Russian WW2 carrier.

I love carriers.I normally modify my games to make war more realistic thus my carriers can carry enough planes to lay waste to a foe and i normally use groups of carriers,each with about 50 planes each.A potent force indeed.
