Does anyone here actually put these things on their pizza?

Anchovies are great. And actually there is some calcium and protein in them too.

I was just reminded of a pizza delivery experience I had in Poland, in 2004.

It came with salami instead of pepperoni, and I'm pretty sure they used some sort of a ketchup mixture instead of tomato sauce.

whats wrong with salami pizza?
you call some kind of sausage pepperoni in north america, right?

the ketchup is bad indeed though.

We have salami pizzas for sale in Aldi.

Bigger than pepperoni, doesn't taste much different though.

Tonight I having ham & mushroom pizza, with extra herbs and pepper sprinkled on once it leaves my oven.

Ahh, I was under the impression that pepperoni was a world-wide pizza topping invented in Italy

wikipedia said:
Pepperoni is a spicy Italian-American variety of salami made from cured pork.[1][2] However, Halal or Kosher Pepperoni may be made from beef. It is a descendant of the spicy salamis of Southern Italy, such as salsiccia Napoletana piccante, a spicy dry sausage from Naples or the Soppressata from Calabria. Pepperoni is a popular pizza topping in American-style pizzerias. Also, it is sometimes used to make sub sandwiches.

So I suppose using salami for pizzas is cool.. but I still can't imagine it tasting as good!

Salami tends to be sandwich filler in the UK, so big. Pepperoni thicker and smaller.

Yeah.. I head to the local EUropean deli place a couple times a month to get German/Hungarian/Mexican/pepper salami. It is awesome on sandwiches.

WHen I lived in Germany salami was the cheapest coldcut you could get (if my mom is to be believed), which is why we ate so much of the stuff when we moved there.. seriously.. salami sandwiches for breakfast, 2nd breakfast (lunch, basically), dinner, and supper (yeah, that's how we eat in Poland, 2 breakfasts)

Anchovies on pizza are very good, assuming it's good pizza to begin with. I can only imagine them making most ketchup and bread chain pizzas worse.

The first pizza I've ever seen/tried in my life had a raw egg right in the middle. I was in a German immigration camp, my family had been living in immigration camps for a year; we were taken out to a semi-fancy Italian restaurant by a relative.

I tried that pizza and it was gross - it turned me off pizza for years.

I heard something like they don't have sauce on the pizzas? And that's just wrong.

On topic: being not much of a fish eater, I wouldn't eat anchovies.

I think I've tasted one or both of these... somewhere. Maybe not :/

I wouldn't mind them probably, I'll eat (or at least try) most anything that isn't east asian (especially chinese) or insects.
