I don't normally watch basket ball but My comes over to watch it on the big screen. One thing I noticed is James is one hell of an actor. Like in the game on now he went down on a foul and stayed there riving in pain until the refs called a technical on him. Then he got up and made his free throws and is playing like nothing ever hurt him. My buddy says this is what he does a lot. And told me about the game vs the wizards where he faked it and the wizards player got suspended.

Is he faking it?

You know, calling a technical on him implies that HE commited a foul...

Maybe you should watch some basketball first.

But it wasn't a technical at first and it wasn't until it called a technical that James wasn't hurting anymore.

Maybe I did watch some basket ball.

What are you talking about? LeBron James rarely flops. You should see Raja Bell or Kurt Thomas. But the refs sometimes favor him.

My first X post in a while

Rarely? So he does fake it. But only some times. Like what I just saw when he was in pain until it was called a technical then he was fine.

I don't think LeBron fakes often and he doesn't have the rep of a flopper. I think he actually gets protected more often than not by the refs, but in a way it might be warranted because he is so damn good and central to the Cavs that teams will attack him mercilessly (and they should).

Welcome to the world of Soccer, where Argentina and Italy dive for no reason and get awarded a Penalty.

Lebron prob. gets fouled harder than any other player in the game, because he's so central to the Cavs offense. Flopping on purpose wouldn't be an effective tool for his gameplan, because he really isn't a good free throw shooter.

He does sometimes "get the calls" though, just like most of the star players in the NBA

All of the time, all of the time. Worst flopper in the NBA.

He's not even the worst flopper on his *team*. (Anderson Varejao).

People flop when
a) They're much better at free throw shooting than they are at creating their own shot
b) They have limited offensive/defensive capabilities, so they have to learn to do things like take charges to keep min.

Lebron meets neither of those. He's going to get to the line alot, because of his size and style of play, just like Shaq off the low block in his time.

I agree, but he does try to 'talk' to the refs quite a bit about what happened.

Fouling him (hard too) is sometimes the only way to stop him  .

Also superstars are not used to being actually fouled. how many times per game do you see Lebron ( or kobe ) drive down the lane and everybody ( and I mean everybody ) get out of the way-5-10? People know if the attampt to draw a charge or block a superstar it WILL be a foul on them. So superstars ( Lebron in this case ) are not used to being hit in the lane-they haven't ever had to deal with it before. remember Laker/ Celtics @ 80's NO FREE baskets, if you went in the lane, you were going to get fouled, and not a touch foul at that.

Yes I remember :old: , that is the way I like basketball played.

IIRC Andrei Kirilenko blocked Kobe TWICE in OT of game 4 yesterday.

Yes, superstars get more calls than other players, but let's not drag things out of proportion...

I think he is sometimes just to win an ESPY, but if you want to see sum REAL good actors, just watch the Spurs' Gianolbi and Parker in the playoffs.
