According to the Fall from Heaven wiki it does, but the in-game pedia makes no mention of it. I had the emergent trait and I chose the raider trait purely because of the XP bonus.
Does the raider trait give +1 XP from combat?

Raider trait rules even without that extra xp!
Free commando is incredibly powerful if you ever go to war, just so long as you look after your strong units. They allow lightning fast strikes on less protected cities, even with movement 1 units, and before you know it you've captured 3 or 4 cities.

The wiki is very old and has quite a bit of inaccurate information.

Yeah commando is good, but my strategy is based purely on leveling up my units as quickly as possible. I've no particular desire to go to war. I've decided to aim for command post instead, purely so I can build command posts.
