homeyg's suicide thread inspired this thread (somehow, that sounds wrong).

Linked shall be found a piece of music which I myself love very dearly. It has helped me personally, by lifting my spirits when I was completely down in the dumps. I remember times when I've overcome depression by simple remembering this music. Others may download it if they please, it's perfectly legal - the non-profit group which releases this music does it to increase awareness and as a social service. They want to increase awareness of India's music and cultural heritage. This is in a new style - the New Age Classical Indian style.

I've noticed that no matter who listens to it, one or the other track simply "clicks" with the listener, depending on their personality or taste, after which there is usually no going back.

I'd like the opinions of others on how effective it is at making you feel happier, or lifting your mood.

EDIT:I'd request people to note that they should listen to the whole thing before deciding whether or not they like it. I myself, when listening to it for the first time, liked one of the tracks near the end.

I'd recommend that the listener should listen to all of them in sequence, twice if necessary, and only then decide whether or not it works. It is usually the second time around that you really start noticing which one of the tracks is the better one.

I can't get it to play in itunes.

It will not play for me :(

It's a torrent file! The torrent file is like a download link, which you have to use in a torrent download program in order to actually download the music. Once that is done, then you can listen to it.

And a request to people here: please seed this after you're done downloading. I have a limited upload capacity (16 kilobytes per second).

I'm dowloading now, 4 hours to go!

I look forward to listening to it.

I'll seed it for as long as necessary. Don't worry if you don't understand any of the lyrics - neither do I;). They are in the "Language of the Gods".
What language is that ? :crazyeye:

It is quite beautiful music, I like it.:)

I downloaded the program linked to in Zydiax's post, and used it to open the file aneeshm posted. The program now says it is seeding. This is my first encounter with torrents, so pardon my n00bness, but what is a torrent and how does it work? Thanks in advance.

I am a world music fan. It is not as chant oriented as Krishna Das, but more akin to the style of polynesian/Samoan music sung in Hindi (or what whatever it is).
