Don Quijote rules the world - SG for RFC

Rosario happens to encompass ALL the future food resources in that area. It's the only logical choice if you're playing domination. You're going to grow that city to around 25-30 just by working all the other resources there. What's one less corn farm when you're going to have many other foodstuffs around?

I didn't say we must found Buenos Aires AND Montevideo, but a city 1 E of Rosario would've been better.

You maybe miss the second corn, but that can be used by founding 1 city in the Gran Chaco-region. Tucuman?

So Ororo, you didn't vassalise England? Or anybody else? Otherwise nice set!
Oh, and how is our economy doing at the moment?

The Great Scientist should be used to build an Academy in Santiago.

... city 1 E of Rosario would've been better.

1E wouldn't be better, you'll know why when the rest of the resources appear.

...founding 1 city in the Gran Chaco-region.

That is exactly what we want to avoid.:crazyeye:

I did not vassalize anyone and honestly, I regret it now. The economy is soso and will stay like that until we build the Forbidden Palace.

No:
1. Fewer hills, less production
2. less land (sea doesn't count for land area needed to control for domination)
3. 1 less rivered tile for levee to work

And once again: you don't want any more cities there except one in southern Chile on the coast.
Any noncoastal cities in southern South America is bad.

Took a look at the save. Some things we need to discuss:

-Possible Vassals:

Turkey - They're pleased with us, judaism as state religion, stability is stable. They're currently at war with Arabia/Babylon.

I think we should vassalize them. They won't compete with land we want to settle and they can grow pretty big in the middle east with our help.

Ethiopia - Annoyed. Judaism. Unstable.

I don't think Ethiopia is gonna last long. They'll probably collapse, so don't think it's a good idea.

-Next cities to settle:

Our economy is very bad right now. So we should hold them for a while, IMO. The forbidden palace isn't going to help us that much, since most of our costs are from number of cities and inflation (86%).

Anyway, we have settlers ready in Chicago (south of the lake) and Habana. Don't think we can handle settling Habana and it's not going to help us much with domination. A second America city might be better. Guess we want Denver in USA (the british already settled Boston and fort Albany).

Are we going to settle the Incan lands? I suggest a city west of the gold near Cusco and a city on the dyes north. But they should wait until the economy is handled.

-Espionage:

We want our next GP to be a GSpy. I assigned 3 spy specialists in Santiago on turn 0. It still going to take ~20 turns. Be careful not to let the governor take the spies out or assign different specialists. The GP pool is already very polluted.

I guess we won't focus our espionage on France anymore. Do we focus it on England?

-Trades:

Greece is willing to trade Military Tradition. We can offer any two of these four techs: Astronomy, Printing Press, Mil Science and Liberalism. PP + Lib and PP + Astro requires some gold too, so it's the best possible deal the AI will offer.

PP + Lib is better IMO.

I'll trade our iron away and build warriors in our new world cities. Is one warrior per city enough?

-Academy:

Cádiz is our best base commerce city, so the academy should go there, not in Madrid.

-Great Merchant:

Economics will be teched in 2 turns. What to do with the GM? If we want a trade mission, the Temple of Artemis is in Sparta.

-Civics:

Guess we want to adopt free market. Don't think we should switch with anything else.

-German Conquest:

Germany has two cities that we can see, Kaven and Lemberg. I think we should keep Kaven and raze and resettle Lemberg

Should I wait for Germany to collapse? Build some more troops? I don't think I'll declare war during my turnset.

-Improvements:

We should farm all tiles near amsterdan and make it a whip factory, future draft city/GP farm. I still think that a great work in Amsterdan would be a nice thing to do (except if we plan to conquer France).

I don't like madrid improvements. A size 10 capital is too low. But now the cottages are already built and being worked, so I don't know what to do.

-Economy:

We are stable at 20% research. That's very bad. Avoid building cities at all costs, we can't afford them. I'm thinking about things to do to handle this, but It's not an easy task.

-Other Things:

The Spral Minaret is built in Sefadu, a malinese coastal city (how they did it with two hammers per turn is a mistery, of course). We could conqyer it with a sneak attack. Should I go for it ?

-I'll wait for you guys to give opinions and will play the set in the weekend.

Madrid should build gold until you can build some more useful buildings.

We don't actually need any more Cannons at the moment though. And Madrid now has both a Great Military Instructor and a Military Academy anway.

-Yeah, we should take Sefadu asap.
-Amsterdam doesn't need culture bombing as it is producing tons of culture atm.
-Santiago has more room to grow, so I would build the Academy there.
-I don't think that the Temple of Artemis has any effect on the value of the trade mission.
-We shouldn't expand further to Germany, at least not in the next 25-50 turns.
-Always pair up the civic switches, so that we make the most of them. IMO we don't have a real need to change anything.

Now, I think the best one would be the Greece - they have the same state religion, are relatively close (at least it doesn't require boat to transport our spies) and can tech pretty decently. However, they're doing fine on their own now...

Regarding Spiral Minaret: I vote for taking it. But then again, you must prioritize christian buildings in all of your cities to take an advantage of it... (also spread Christianity to Rosario and Limatambo - Cristoph Columbus already carries one missionary)

Forbidden palace isn't gonna save our economy but it can help a little bit, so don't delay it! However, since Limatambo and Rosario are too far away they definately require a courthouse! Well, in fact I would build those in all cities, since they reduce the total maintenance (which includes the one from the number of cities)

Madrid can start building wealth in 8 turns (since that GA is especially important right now)

You also have to assign at least 5 specialist in Santiago and only 2 in Cadiz to make Santiago produce its GP faster...

IIRC, I quequed courthouses in pretty much every American city. And we are still using slavery, so whip away!

The temple of Artemis helps in trade missions. Since sparta is low pop and in the same continent, it may not be the best trade mission city for us, but the ToA definetly helps.

About the academy:

Cádiz has more commerce, so the academy, IMO, should go there. Santiago has more potential for growth, but it's being used as a GSpy farm and It's better for production. We'll have to destroy one of it's cottages to farm the corn resource, so is even less commerce.

If the majority prefers cádiz, we can take some coastal tiles from mellila and let the city grow bigger.

About GPs: We have a GP coming in 11 turns in cádiz, but the pool is very polluted (23% GSci, 45% GEng, 32% GSpy). We could wait for it and maybe combine it with the GM for a golden age. Doing this plus Taj Mahal equals a very long golden age. If we want a GSpy, I'll take the specialists off cádiz and wait for Santiago to pop its GP. It's going to take 22 turns (less because of the golden age). But the pool is polluted too, so no guarantees that we'll be geting a GSpy.

Anyone in there? Looks like Ichabod is unable to play...
