what is this here for? most people have a silver dot, although some have a green one, and i think i have a red one. is this the 'karma' feature of VB3, or does indicate when someone's online or something else?

That is the "active" indicator. Green means that that user is online. Silver means that that user is offline or is in invisible mode.

It shows the online/offline status of the poster, hover the mouse over it. :)

Edit: bah, beaten to it. ;)

o, why didn't i notice i could hover my mouse over it. now i'm switching off invisible, everyone can tell

doesn't that kinda defeat the point of "invisibale"?

Not really, because for all you know the "invisible" person is visible but currently offline. But of course if you're a good stalker, you could find out if someone is invisible or not.

And BTW, this feature isn't new to the upgrade; it was in the old version as well, in the form of red/yellow checks (or white/blue apples if you used the Mac style). You may have already known that, though.

At a guess I'd say that the 'invisible' posters can see their own status, and also the mods, but everyone else sees the offline symbol.

You could tell in 2.35 (there was a checkmark).

I think it still says your offline if your invisible and online. I've never seen CT's on, and I know she's in invisible.

Besides it would only show that you were on the forums, not which part of the forum you were currently browsing...
