Double Your Pleasure - Mod under Construction

Well there are only three different size boxes available for the ancient age. The easiest way to explain it is to show you.

NOTE: I changed the size of the tech boxes by reducing the border quite a bit. I did this so that I could fit more techs in one Era. There are four column and 15 rows. It is sorted like this:

Notice how the top section does not have a small box. That is where the small box for the ancient era goes.

Shrinking those boxes by a few pixels each way allowed me to change the advisor screen. I also realize now that if you shrink the border of the science advisor screen than you can fit more techs on it that way.

This is what my Ancient Era looks like. I haven't added any new techs yet. This is a revamp of the old ancient era tech tree.

could you post that file? I could really use it. my ancient era is pretty crammed right now and I suspect that the middle ages and industrial will be quite tight too.

did you say this didn't work? or was that something else?
 
What exactly did you want, just the background images (1st post), or did you want the end result like I had in the second post? If I send you the first file you will need to reorganize the tree yourself, but then you can add whatever you want and reorg them yourself.

The other part took a few different files and the techs were moved. I could send those to you and give you the tech locations I used.

Oh and it all works perfectly fine.
 
sounds great. I don't know if I understood you correctly, but just so we're clear. I need whatever files are necessary in order to have the smaller tech boxes usable in the science advisor screen.

Smaller Tech boxes are in just one file. That is cool. Note however that some of the boxes are a little off in alignment. This is all cosmetic.

The reason being I had to guess at the exact size and method to shrink them by. If you look closely at the blue and gray boxes you will notice the blue or gray border at the top comes down further than the yellow and green boxes. This is because mid-way through changing the file I changed the mothod I was using. Also the longer boxes (the ones for four icons) are a little bit too short.

I thought about going back to recify these errors, but since it is a temporary solution until Firaxis comes out with a new and better way to do this, I thought it wasn't worth the effort. I can fix it if there is a need for it. Again this is just cosmetic and in no way effects any outcome of the game. I'll send the file in a bout an hour or so.
 
how long would it take to change them so they were all the same? if it would be a big hassle don't worry about it, but if it would be relatively easy, would you mind?

Well I would have to redo half the file from scratch and it was a pain in the butt. It is hard to notice. I'll let you take a look and decide if it is too bad. It is only off by a couple of pixels either way.
 
This is a hugely ambitious mod with a lot of really good ideas. I have no skills to offer to help but I am looking forward to playing it. Good luck.

I have to apologize. I got home and found out that the construction going on next door cut my phone-line. No phone line no DSL or dial-up. I couldn't post the file. It is supposed to be fixed no later than 6pm CST. Again, sorry about this.

I am posting info on the improvements and wonders excel file. I used the file created by Nero Would as a base and just added in my additonal stuff and highlighted any changes to the original.

Building costs/culture/happiness/production bonuses are up for debate.

I also have the government excel sheet done and can post the units which are almost done save fr their A/D/M and Bombardment values. All missile weapon units, i.e. archers - modern armor will have a bombardment value.
