Downgrading graphics?

Hi! (first post ever!)
I'm playing Civ4 on a below-minimum-specs Mac (1.3GHz Powerbook, 768 MB RAM), and I was wondering wether or not there are any mods that downgrade the graphics? Call me crazy, but I'm thinking along the lines of fewer polys + fewer (no) animations = more fluid game experience for me

Not really, if you want just go to the options menu and have frozen animations, low resolution, and all those other low graphics settings selected.

I already did, I'm suggesting even further downgrading

I believe I saw a post once that how just 2d pics for the units. I'll try and look around the site for the post I saw, I'll get back to you if I find it.
