I've been pretty busy lately, but I wanted to pass this on to the OT croud.

The BBC is releasing MP3's of Beethoven's symphonies as performed by BBC Philharmonic, and conducted by Gianandrea Noseda. Symphonies 1-5 are already available, with the rest to be posted later.

I haven't gotten to listen yet (pretty slow to download) but given the BBC, I can only assume the quality is good.

Well, back to work: enjoy.

Got any NWA?

Makes sense. I'm sure they've fallen into public domain. I'll have to download them

Gotta love the BBC! :)

Don't forget though, the British public paid for these to given out free. Production, marketting, and bandwidth is nothing to be sniffed at. One of them is 51Mb and how many people will be downloading it?

i found them realy quik to download going at about 300kb a second, so in total taking only a couple of min, i was incredible surpised by the speed

I've nearly got all of them that are availible. I'm going to have to edit out the intro, I don't need an introduction spoiling the file. Hopefully I'll remember to get the rest on the 28th of June. I would ask if anyone remembers they bump up this thread to remind me. It would suck to only have the first half I've got a bit of a thing about completing collections.

I'm listening to them now, and the quality is very nice.

Yes, thank you to the BBC and the British public for supporting them. I like most of what the BBC puts out.

:hmm: mine took a lot longer, maybe I got unlucky with server selection (but all 5 came in at the same speed a few kb/sec) - or maybe you're in Europe?

I have a few of them, but not the whole set. Also it is nice to have a full set by one symphony and conductor, my other's are varied.

I'm planning to, I have it bookmarked - if I remember I'll bump the thread and would ask anyone else to do the same. The BBC is only going to host the files for 1 week due to the constraints already mentioned by stormbind.

What is NWA?

Thanks so much for the link!

I've only got the ones that I like. I have the 6th, 9th. I also have the 5th, but it has been played too much and is therefore boring. If you have a look at my Profile, you will see that I have the man in question as my profile picture.

Seeing as this comes out of my lifeblood, they may as well give me something back.

Just adding that #3 = Eroica and #6 = Pastorale.
