Download link and version info

The Revolutions mod is an amazing mod because it adds heaps to the game but it's all in the coding not the graphics. This is why it's download is so small. If you want VD and the like, there are a few mods out there that include VD with Revolutions. Hunt around. One mod that comes to mind is Keldath's Overlord 2. Another option you have is to look in the "World of Civ" mod which also builds in Revolutions I think, and allows for graphics updates.
Cheers.

Thanks Glider. I am going to download this, but I also want it included with Extra and VD. I saw the Mergers and Modders thread, but I am neither a merger or a modder. (I may screw something up. It has happened to me before.) Is there a thread where I can safely ask for someone to merge these mods for me?

Thing about WoC is that you can add VD graphics by dropping the mod into the modules folder, nor programming or modding required. Check out WoC. The only "issue" is that the WoC Revolutions code may not be up to date and may not be as stable. I don't think you have to ask for the merge you want because it has already been done. Other mods out there that might suit you is Phungus's WolfRevolution and of course Zappara's Rise of Mankind.

In the future (medium term) there is a plan to make RevolutionDCM below able to drag and drop graphics modules into it as a variant of the WoC project, but it is just a "thought" at this stage.

Cheers.

While Jdog's away taking a well deserved break from Revolutions and Better BTS AI, he has left me in charge of releasing latest versions of this mod. Jdog is still the primary coder and developer of the Revolutions mod.

The link to the latest Revolution is now referred to as RevolutionDCM and is available here:
https://sourceforge.net/project/platformdownload.php?group_id=249128

I accidently assigned Jdog as the uploader of RevolutionDCM on that forum, and thus I am not able to update the CivFanatics download sites.

Cheers.

What I forgot to say but should have said, is that for the straight Revolution mod players, still download RevolutionDCM at sourceforge and install that as you would have done with Revolutions. Enable revolutions as you always do at the custom game screen, but disable all the non-revolution components in game on first load. You do that by going to the game interface screen at CTRL-ALT-O under the RevDCM tab, change your settings, save the game and reload. From that point on, your settings will work across all games.
Cheers.

@Ekmek
Yeah you can have confidence that it is good. Jdog was the one who started the ball rolling on merging Rev with RevDCM in the first place.

Could you help me with instructions on merging VD latest with RevDCM Ekmek or perhaps even supply a zip? I'd like to finally supply it as an official RevDCM addon pack. I sure would like to try VD.
Cheers.

Hi there
There is a small logic error bug in a small number of cases, with the possibility of interaction between the DCM AI and the Better BTS AI in the frigate era and beyond. Not at all important except for purists like me. There is no impact on performance or stability, thus installing it is not necessary. The patch is completely compatible with your current RevolutionDCM 1.00 game.

Here is the link:

See post 810.

CivFanatics doesn't allow me to post the same file in two different forums.
Cheers.

Another low priority patch release for RevolutionDCM 1.00. This time if you play inquisitions. Install and continue you game. The patch will be included in the next official RevolutionDCM release as well. This patch does not have to be installed at all and only has a small effect on game play. This also applies to all previous low priority patches to 1.00 since release.

Get all the patches so far at the bottom of post #1 on the RevolutionDCM forum:

Cheers.

The OP isn't up to date, is this intentional? If you do update it, could add Legends of Revolution to the list of mods that use Revolutions to the list in the OP. Also you may consider removing the unsupported ones.

I cannot build any version of Revolution from available sources other than RevDCM 2.0, which is still too buggy for me. All I really need is Revolutions and Barb Civs and the ability to make small unrelated changes in the SDK. The download for Revolution 1.65c does not include sources. I would like the source files and a makefile for that.

Could you Include "Rise of Mankind" as a mod that uses RevDCM as it's core?

Thanks

In the current SVN todo list this is a bullet for 2.61:
- Duuk says: One "bugfix" I'd like to see is for RevDCM to not crash when loading a scenario with less than the maximum defined teams. This would allow us to use any vanilla scenario map or downloaded map from the "premade" section of the forum.

That should really be moved to the "Wish List" category, as we're not sure if this is at all possible in to fix in the SDK anyway, and certainly should wait for other priority fixes.

Also you guys have checked off the ACO issues. The ACO tab still does not work, please bring the tab back so that users can change the ACO settings in the BUG options page. Also it would be cool to upgrade to the current version of ACO, as the current one RevDCM uses is a little older.

Also I would move my code suggestions that softcode the inquisitor over to 2.7, as they break save game compatibility. It would be best if 2.61 were save game compatible with 2.6.

Finally I don't know what to make of the fact that my name is in over half of the todo list bullets :crazyeye:

Is there an ACO tab in BUG 4.1? There's an ACO check box on one of the other tabs, I'd be a little surprised if there was also a tab.

I know there is a new version of ACO out, not sure when we'll merge it in though.

Yeah seriously

The checkbox doesn't work for ACO, and can just be removed. The old tab was a better system as you could adjust the detail level of ACO, which really should be brought back into the options screen. I'm confused as to why this was cut in the first place.

I don't consider either of these big issues either, just wanted to note them so that they would be added to the todo list. The only big issues on my mind in regards to RevDCM (the stick in your eye problems) is the fact that MP doesn't work, and that Conquest Victory is broken. Everything else is just polish, but touch up stuff is good, and really brings out the other qualities and features in a mod; so it's important to point them out as well.
