Dragon Age.

Spoiler :
Not only that but I apparently misunderstood what each boss fight was. I thought the fat tentacle Broodmonster thing was actually Branka having been transformed by the forge; that's what that insane rhyming dwarf was implying, I thought. Turns out it's just a monster. Disappointed me too, that would've been a neat conclusion to the quest; and given how epic that boss fight was I was pretty sure that was meant to be the end of the storyline.

Spoiler :
Nah, the broodmother was the other dwarf chick (the one it kinda implies that Branka loved), who Branka turned into the BM so she'd have a nice supply of victims to throw into the traps...

Yep, she's one crazy :):):):):)...

@ PrinceScamp
Spoiler :
Yeah I know all that about Loghain, but my character was like the most ultimate noble paragon Jesus type so he wasn't going to kill him I guess? I tried to have a balanced party, and since I was already a tank, I didn't need Alistair really. I had managed to convince Anora and Alistair to marry and rule together, but I spoiled it when Alistair left. I think I was supposed to kill Loghain myself, because if you let Alistair kill him, then Anora won't want marry him anymore.

My party was me (tank) wynne, sten and leliana. At some point late in the game there is an encounter with the Crows in Denerim and they want to take Zevran back. If your relationship with Zevran hasn't grown (he's like below 33 or so? Not sure), then he'll side with the crows and try to kill you. You must kill him and a bunch of crows.

Spoiler :

Yeah I was kind of disappointed that Alistair will ALWAYS leave you if you don't kill Loghain, but as I said above having Loghain effectively become Alistair's brother-in-arms (the Wardens act to fulfill some roles of the families they no longer have) is completely unacceptable to Alistair. Though if you have convinced him to become King and ensure Loghain is the one killed I think the two should just have fought it out.

I talked to everyone in my party and while I made sure I had a good selection for the boss fights and extended quests where you don't get to switch your party around for a long time I did take on the other characters for side quests and stuff. I don't understand why people don't especially since they all level up when you do.

Zevran wouldn't betray me hah hah! I killed Wynne but I suppose I'll let her live in my current game.

Spoilers pertaining to the Orzammar main quest:
Spoiler :
Am I the only one that just hated this quest? Horrible repetition for what had to be at least two hours through the tunnels and what have you, and then the game makes up for it by having three boss fights in a row.

Then the four-faced boss? I thought that was the forge, and I specifically remember thinking to myself: "So the plot twist is the forge is alive and evil? Saw it coming, still cool." After I won that fight, I ran around that room bewildered for a minute until I realized it was just another boss. Boo. And then of course we come to the fight with Branka, which took me about a dozen tries because I kept getting overwhelmed by the number of enemies. The one thing I give credit to this quest for, though, is that the solution is legitimately morally ambiguous. Seems like every other quest in the game has a clear cut good-vs.-less good decision.

Spoiler :

I actually quite liked it, although yes it was quite long but that rather suited the great length and depth of the deep roads. I knew Branka wasn't transformed beforehand from, somewhere, don't remember. The brood mother was also featured in some of the trailers. Orzammar is supposed to be hard too, and Golems should be a tough fight, they are made out of solid rock and/or steel!

The Brood Monster is... something, I think she is older than the expedition as she has clearly taken over most of that cave and has probably been pumping out darkspawn for many years, as it is mentioned that the dead trenches are where a lot of darkspawn are based out of. Branka's lover is the crazy dwarf who disappears when you fight the brood monster.

The 4 faced statue was a strange test/trap/boss, but as I could tell on my map it was not the end of the tunnel and I did know what the forge looked like, and I was thinking "hmm that doesn't seem like very many tests, there must be another one that is actually difficult". I can see how it can be mistaken, but that seems like the point.

A summary of how you ended the game? Here's mine: (spoilers of course)

Spoiler :
At the Landsmeet: I let Loghain live, Alistair is pissed and leaves. Oh well, I never used him anyway. And why is he so pissy uh, I never killed anyone who had surrendered I wasn't going to start now, plus Loghain seemed to understand, finally.

Morrigan's deal: I hadn't used Morrigan. And her deal seemed shady, considering the whole Flemeth business. So I said no, and no to her going to Loghain instead (ew). Her argument was that Loghain would become the hero and I'd fade into obscurity? Weaksauce argument. She leaves for good. After Zevran dying, Alistair leaving, and now her, my party's ranks are growing thin.

Killing the archdemon: I let Loghain do it, I mean, there's only so much I'm going to let him get away with. So he winds up dead anyway, and we're both heroes, whee-a-boo. Whatever. Besides, I gotta go and get some more Leliana booty all around the world (aka I still had stuff to live for whereas he was just crapped out now, I'm more useful than this loser).

I guess I'll try to replay the ending giving the final blow myself. I wonder what happens then, funerals and what? If you still live, you get to talk to everybody again and discuss things. You kind of miss on that if you just die.

Oh well.

My first game as a city elf

Spoiler :

Landsmeet: I let Alistair kill Loghain, the marriage I negotiatet is obviously off.

Morrigans offer: I'm with Leliana and don't sleep with Morrigan. However since Alistair is also a Warden and carries the taint I convinvce him to bang her.

that rhyming in the tunnels really creeped me out btw.

@PrinceScamp, like I said on Steam the other day, I sort of left some of the side quests undone to make my next play-through more interesting, especially for characters I wasn't actively using. Even then I got the achievement for completing over 75% of side quests, oh well.

Ah right, I had forgotten that.

So it looks like this games on hold for me until they come out with an extra easy mod....

Did you patch it? I'm playing on Normal and I am dying less than I did before I patched it on easy...

I played the first playthrough as a human mage. The expansion pack is coming out in March, so I suppose I'll play it again with Return to Ostagar and Warden's Keep as a human warrior, maybe, and pick different choices this time through.

So, if I loved Baldurs Gate 1, Icewind Dale 1, and Morrowind.. will I love this game? Also, what kinda compy power do i need?

The gameplay is much worse but the characterization and storytelling is similar as the Baldur's Gate games, so I would say yes.

Not sure about Baldurs Gate 1, but the storytelling reminds me of BG2

The game is supposed to be a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate and shows it, on the PC. You can zoom out and choose an isometric view and holding down tab shows every item you can interact with. The story and dialogue choices are similar in style and really good. The combat is similar too but doesn't use D&D rules and isn't quite as fleshed out, but I honestly don't mind it and hope either mods or the expansion will flesh it out.

EDIT: Slap Morrigan Mod:

Can anybody tell me if this ending is possible?
Spoiler :
Noble human male, engaging in one of the romances, but marries Anora and becomes king?

No.

Spoiler :

Only a female human can become queen, you cannot become King.

Are you sure? The Dragon Age wiki says you can, though it seems unclear as to how it's accomplished, and whether it's impeded by other factors.

Ah I found where it says that, stupid wikis tend to say something in only one place and not other similar relevant articles.
