Ty CH, i really like that painting of yours :)

I'm not an artist.

Neither am I.
When I did drawing at school no one liked them, especially my art teachers.
Bugger 'em. I once did an imitation of Van Gogh's Starry Night that the teacher panned because of 'uneven brush strokes'. But you know what? To this day it's one of my favourite pieces. At least half of art appraisal is based on personal taste. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
I don't have any talent.
You think you don't. You're too hard on yourself. Remember this animal or these faces? I wish I could draw like that.

I have rubbish taste in everything.

I'm probably not hard enough.

Do you realize how sad you're all making us?
Most people are always mad at me and hate me.

This isn't funny anymore
I don't have a sense of humour.

Don't be emo! Everyone loves you  !

Seriously.

Here is a group of people who love you. We're here for an intervention. We have noticed you haven't been drawing; we suggest you hand your problem over to a higher power and then use our 12-step program to drawing a little again.

Please draw.

Please.

Not us. Heck, CurtSibling loves your work, and his job is art.

I have rubbish taste in everything.
Really? What I've sampled was delicious.

Maybe on your end of the line. 'Round here we're avid fans. In fact, I haven't found one negative comment about you in this thread.

I don't have a sense of humour.
Then I guess it's up to me...

Again I dedicate this piece to CH. I bet even da Vinci had his down days.
But, always look on the bright side of life.

I'm far too horrible, too much of a burden and get in the way too much to be loved by anyone.

Really? What I've sampled was delicious.
Anything that I like is usually hated by everyone.

I don't know. His probably didn't last for years and some people probably found him useful and liked him.

Finally managed to figure out how to get pictures off a Word document in my spare time. Here's something I designed for a school project about 7 years ago.

It's an eco-friendly building capable of generating at least some of the energy it needs using photovoltaic cells on the glass tower, which receive extra sunlight from the mirrors during noon time. It's also supposed to use hydrogen fuel cells, but the sciencey part was not my responsility :p

Floorplan please. It looks interesting. What would the building be used for, hypothetically? Office space?

Sorry, no floor plan. It wasn't really the focus of the project. Heck, I was 15 :p

It's supposed to be a mall + office, something very common over here. Are you an architect? That's one thing I considered becoming, but I heard it's not all about creativity and I'm not strong enough at math anyway.

I'm not an architect, just very interested in architecture, it's like art with physics. I am a painter and comic artist, though, for what it's worth. Anyway, these days I imagine you'd have an easier time with it since programs like SolidWorks (or at least architecture programs with similar stress simulation abilities) would do all the arithmetic and maybe even some of the maths. For what it's worth, I think you could've gone places with it if you gave it a good go.

Damn, what classes were you taking to be assigned a project like that? Cuz that is awesome....

Well, I heard and read bad things about the architectural business. I used to read up about the famous architects and even they were sometimes not exempt from the unpleasantness. That's not to say that every job doesn't have its downside, but at least in Asia there is still a culture of having to meet the client's every whim, which doesn't allow for much creativity. And even in the West it's difficult to be your own man unless you're really very good. If I can't be creative, I would hate the job more than some others :(

It was an interdisciplinary project work. We could do anything as long as we combined two of the subjects we were taking. That project was English/Physics. Physics is rather obvious, but the English part consisted of bullcrapping about the design and etc ;)

That's a nice painting, CH. To be honest, I'm surprised how nice it is (no offense to your drawings which have good impressionist undertones, sense of space and movement). I wouldn't mind it hanging in my house, and I'm very picky (as one might guess). Do I see a moon in the background, alluding to lycanthropy? Perhaps more faintly alluding to it being a self-portrait of sort?

I think that was already on the slab. I was asked to do the painting of a fox for a display as there's a passage in the Bible about foxes in holes.

Nice thread!

It's not much, but here's my latest sketch:

Hopefully, it's big enough to see the details...
