Man, you still around? haven't seen you in a while.

Still lurking. Of course I had to spend half a year in army learning to :spear:.

Rheinmetall: Spam some more! That's a great one you've posted, quite elegant. :goodjob:

Here is another of mine. I did this for GCSE art. It is done in acrylics and took me about 2 months to do, working for hours each day. It is 4ft x 6ft and is called "Reptile Jazz". The two guys are Charlie Parker on sax and John Lee Hooker on guitar. It's funny that I've got the perspective so wrong in so many places, as it was an early painting, but it adds to the quirkiness of the whole thing IMO :) (well that's the excuse anyway).

Rambuchan. Thou art painting god. I bow to thy greatness.

Good to see this thread back from the grave - And fine work by all here!
I'd swear I have seen some of the crazy line images on the B3TA messageboard!

I will try to rustle up something and post it...

:D

From a series of new character designs I am working on for a digital comic...

:)

That's pretty good characterisation Curt. I'm impressed. Has this digital cartoon got its storyline and everything worked out yet? Who are you doing it for and what's it all about? I don't give a damn if you spam up the thread telling us, if it means you'll break out more pictures of your work btw.

@ Rhein: Your flattery is greatly appreciated. However that painting was done about 15 years ago now. I can still draw pretty well and seem to have all those skills intact. The crucial issue is the time and application. Those skills are just as important and I don't apply them to painting anymore. But as I've said before, that could change very easily ;).

Heh! Many thanks, old chap!

Never give Curt Sibling the signal to Spam with impunity! :D

Well, the comic is set in the 1960's and features various crazy characters and
their adventures, beset with rednecks, serial killers and supernatural baddies!

It will be full colour and feature many cartoon 'babes', all rendered in a tasteful Russ Meyer fashion!

:D

Here is another of the cast of characters...;)

Tonights quickie done. Time to

As long as you spam with pics, itsallright, this is a thread for pics after all... but should you spam with rants, I'll mod you to Hell (or Heaven, hard to figure what you'd consider worst). ;)

Nevertheless, I am itching to make a new one for here, BUT I am working out memory issues on my new PC, and I don't want to start a new drawing in the old one.

Maybe I'll just hand draw one of your mean babes... just for old (DaL) times' sake. :D

Regards :).

When it comes to creative, non-debate threads, I am always the perfect gentleman!

:)

Here is one more for the road!

I agree Curt. I far prefer creative threads to slogging it out. So what else have you got? Got any of the background pics of the characters 'in action'? Story frames? I've been involved with the development of quite a few films/tv progs/music vids/adverts, so I'd be happy to help you bounce around ideas. It seems you've got the characters but what do they get up to? What's their purpose and meaning for being who they are? You know, all that jazz.

Brilliant as ever!

By the way, have you ever created any 'Doctor Who' art in your unique style?

On a forum, I saw a Cyberman and Dalek done in a painting method very similar to yours!

:)

Curt: Well I understand your concerns about staying within CFC rules and also copyright. Fair enough. But now I can see that it is actually a fully developed cartoon and a very good one at that! :hatsoff:

Personally I prefer the artwork and content of the first set but that's jut me. The Russ Meyer style is a great one, a good bit of titillation for the readers :D plus it's a bold style worth emulating/alluding to in itself. I don't know this Gilbert Shelton you mention though. I'm still curious as to whether or not these are available to buy in public or whether you have just been doodling away all these years without ever releasing them....?

Rhein: I would love to see what you can do with a good range of paint brushes and some oil paints. You mentioned somewhere that these were done with a software programme, but they clearly show you would be a dab-hand with some oils.

:)

Cheers man!

Shelton wass the guy who invented 'The Fabulour Furry Freak Brothers' a classic underground comic.

The old issues were all sold off in record shops around Glasgow!
I still have some old colour issues kicking around, and could send one free of
charge to any address you want to PM to me! Up to you, all privacy is respected!

The artwork will be smoother than either of the strips on show there,
with better storylines, character design and far higher quality overall.

The new comic will be in CD format, and viewable via a PC. Soon, I will unearth
a stack of the old artwork too and remake the paper issues as digital versions...!

:D

Well it's good to hear they have been selling! Bloody good job!

I was going to mention about the FFF Bros but didn't want to go off on one and piss Fred off. I read loads of those as a teen. You are defo getting a PM.

Nice work on those page Curt. You must have put an insane amount of work in those cartoons.

Rambuchan: Well you're too kind. I've been hankering a long time for good oil paints but since I don't have the money, space or skills for them I'll settle for my computer for now.

FredLC:Pleasant surprise to see new works in your gallery. Great work.

This didn't turn out as I hoped.

Ack.. overload of good art. I can't remember if I've posted this in the previous "drawing a little" threads, but here goes anyway.

@Rheinmetall:
Many thanks, dude! Your work rules, as ever!

@Skullcrusher:
They should have reduced that poor chap's jail sentence! Bloody good art, man!

:)

Time to add something new - Here is another character from the comic...:)
