Drinking drunk, sunk.

a 30 and 38 year old who have never been drunk? Sheesh, I'd have to think thats a real rarity..........
Despite what the media may try and tell you, it is not such a rarity. I would not be at all surprised to find out its the other way around, actually. Many, many people do not get drunk. Some (Spiff, my folks) never even consume alcohol.

as for your age, Drake. Without spending a bunch of time reading through some of your other posts, I would guess 18-20. If you want a specific guess I'll split the difference and call it 19. Am I close? you'll have to get yourself added to the age FAQ (just reply to that thread and the appropriate mod will update the list)

Well sorta close leowind........youre in the right generation

I'm 23 in less than a week actually.

I don't think my assumption that most people have atleast gotten drunk once in their life is too off base. Is it?

I'm not saying one should or shouldnt.

I'm surprised, Drake. 23 should be old enough to remember Calvin and Hobbes. I don't think he's been gone from us quite that long, yet (Spiff, you know when the end came?).

As for most people getting drunk at least once. Assuming by most you mean anything over half, and drunk at least (but maybe only) once, then you could very well be correct. I would not be too surprised, however, to find that such is not the case. In either case, I think there are a significant number of people who have never been drunk, so it is not the rarity you would think.

Oh I remember calvin and hobbes, but never really liked them or found them funny, therefore my knowlegde about them is quite limited.....

I been nicely drunk loads of times...but only twice failed to get to my bed...

1. in college after the drinking in the bar after the ´parents formal´in the GREAT HALL in CASTLE college (Durham University, England) where my student parents got me drunk on bulgarian wine and then the bar wiped me out! Blastaways we drunk aplenty and I was mind-melted!

Got to my room...opened door, fell

Other time I fell asleep in the top hall of my student house...my snoring brought a crowd of housemates out of bed at 2.00am to investigate and I awoke with a blanket...much to my confusion as it wasn´t mine!!! Thanks housemates

THAT is what friends are for!

Drake that is almost creepy as I'm turning 23 on Tuesday myself!!!

OK guys I'll now post my own little recipe on how to get really stoned:

First you and a friend buy a box(30 bottles) of good strong beer(8,4%+) then you sit down in your living room and drink it all.
After that you go into a bar, preferably one where you are a regular and drink some 10 large(.5L+) of good strong beer.
Then you decide it's time for the alcohol and your friend buys a bottle of whiskey(70cl) - which you drink real fast(45 min) - after this it is of cause your turn to buy a new bottle of whiskey.
When all of this is down - at about 02.30AM - you decide that you want some more, but two more bottles would probably be too much so you buy only one bottle(100cl) of Vodka.

At about 04.00 AM when all of this had made the trip down in your, very happy, stomach you should be getting there - I know I was and boy did I have some good hangovers the next day at 06.00 AM when I got up!!!

No wait we are species 5618 and we got beer...... don't harm us!!!!!!

I did that drinking on Thursday the 14. January 1999 - my last day as a soldier. Me and my friend decided that we would be as drunk as you can possibly get and we where I had to go the the bars toilet and wake him up and he dragged me up from the floor a few time during the night!!!

I was still drunk Saturday afternoon and evening and the hangovers where still noticeable the following Wednesday!

I have never been so drunk before and I'll never do it again - one of the Sergeants in the watch had to carry me to bed and undress me!!! The next day the entire platoon was gathered and had to clean up and collect stuff from our rooms - The master Sergeant told me and Ulrik(the other guy) - after giving all the others assignments that our assignment was to keep standing on our feet while the others did the work - he seemed to think that might be more than we could managed!! <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/lol.gif" border=0>

BTW we didn't drink all of it - when we woke up(surprisingly) Ulrik held the bottle of Vodka in his hand and there was a tiny drop of Vodka left in it!!!

If you kept it all down, you liver must have been screaming. If you puked some of it out, it probably alleviated borderline alcohol poisoning, LOL! As a military guy myself, I've had to drag more than one of our E's back to the barracks, tents (in wars), or hotel (we fly a lot). Unfortunately, a small number of those E's are still in Leavenworth serving prison time after various acts of destruction, particularly 3 guys who trashed a hotel room at Frankfurt's airport a few years ago

. At least you seem non-violent when trashed!

I probably would have done a few comparable things when I used to drink. It only works out to 10 and a bit litres of beer, and less than 100mls of spirits each- a fair effort, but obtainable. On New Years Eve 1999, a lined up 4 700ml bottles in front of me: I Jamesons Irish whiskey, 1 Coruba Jamaican rum, 1 Jim Beam Bourbon, and 1 Kirov vodka.
By 2230, only a third of Jamesons was left, having started at 1200.

My Year 12 formal fell on the night before the AFL Grand Final, so from 1700 Friday, this was my take
3 stubbies (375ml) beer
1 375ml bottle of Beam at formal
25 beers at after party
5 beers at pub, from 0345-0445
Sleep a little, go home, get changed, out at friends house for footy.
1 carton (24 cans)
Later in evening
3 or 4 more beers.

As for my forst drinking experience, it would have been in the latter part of Year 11, shortly after I had turned 16. If I recall right, it was before at Saturday footy game at school, and I drank a mixed 500ml bottle of red wine, scotch, and a splash of coke. It might of been then, or on a couple of other occasions at school.
It was a new experience, and early on, I couldn't really handle it, but quickly got used to it. The buzz point was fairly early, but it was soon passed by.
Ah, but those were the days, the flower of my misbegotten youth.

The funny thing about all of this is that hangovers are quite easy to deterr... All they are is dehydration... so before you go to bed or just plain old collapse
smile.gif
drink a few glasses of water, and voila!
BTW: I'm back for a little while.
