Dual vs Quad cores

Quadcore isn't worth paying more for at the current time unless, as has been said, you're doing multimedia.

Or if you enjoy multitasking.

Now unless you can manage to do 4 things at once, 2 cores is currently enough to multitask. Because I do not see many people playing a resource heavy game while doing 3D modeling.

I bought my Q6600 for $269.99 (it was on sale). Although a good dual core is probably just as good and they will probably be better quads in two years.
