The original pbem did not kick off due to player unavailability, so I am starting again with the game (see my signature for game link--all files are on the website).

So far the players are:
Rcoutme
Punkbass
Aeon221 (who wants a smaller role)
Gnarfflinger--USSR
Dazz G
Gishmibop -- if we can get him hooked up
Rik Meleet

The game is WWII Europe pbem. There are up to 7 human players (the Swedes are always AI) and there is no signing MPP's or alliances with a neutral AI. All other options are in. This is Beta testing...since the AI can not test this scenario any longer. The scenario is version 2.0. The original one that I created has been played in Operation Market Garden and Operation Overlord.

I'm interested, I usually get the turn about 10 pm EST in the evening, and play it the next day to send that night.

My first Choice is Russia, but if someone has their heart set on Russia, then I'll try Germany...

Will I need to download it again? (ie. Has anything changed since the last attempt?)

I know I've said I don't care, but I'd kinda like to take whichever of Spain or the AMP that you don't take, Rob. ;) I like being a not-too-influential component. Oh, and I don't like being blamed for screwing up the allies

You will have to scratch me from this one ... I cannot get the files to work at all.

The problem is the file for WW2_Europe. If I download the zip from your site, I cannot extract it due to 'unknown format or broken'.

If I download from El Menecy's site, it is an unknown PHP file.

If i'm doing something stupid let me know but otherwise I cannot take part.

G'Day,

I like to try this scenario as well though as I haven't tried it before, a minor role only if possible :D

Usual playing time is 9am - 12pm (GMT 00) weekdays and whenever on weekends.

Mail is frank_leigh2@yahoo.com.au. Rcoutme should still have it from our current Nimitz game ;)

Can anyone help with this problem ? I really would like to take part in this.

Dazz G, I need to get online with you on MSN. Please email me your MSN IM signature and I will send the file to you directly. Gnarfflinger had a similar problem (as did his cousin) and we were able to correct it that way.

Mine, btw, is Rcoutme at hotmail dot com.

Sweden (includes Turkey, Portugal, and Ireland) is played by AI.
Rik Meleet – England
Gishmibop – France
Gnarfflinger—USSR
Dazz G—Germany
Rcoutme -- Spain
Punkbass—Italy
Aeon221— Allied Minor Powers

No MPP’s or alliances may be initiated by players with Sweden. They may be signed, but the computer player must be the offerer…you are on an honor basis here.

House rules are as follows (and I am really trying to leave you with as many options as possible):
1. Only France and Spain may switch governments at will. France must be in a Fascist government (or anarchy leading to it) in order to ally with Germany against England (with Italy against USSR is another story).
2. Italy may switch governments but is not allowed to do so while allied to Germany (unless they are not Fascist at the time…in which case they MUST go to fascism to ally with Germany).
3. The rest of you are not allowed to change government at all.
4. Cities may not be transferred unless the receiving power occupies the city on his next turn. The one exception is that France may give the Allied Minor Powers (AMP) any cities as a means of setting those cities as permanently Free French. Thus…England had better not show up with a city in Central Russia unless they have units there already! Airlifting units to the city is not considered a legitimate means of occupying…You are on your honor on this.
5. Only Germany and USSR have the capacity to build settlers: Germany may only settle cities that have been auto-razed (there is no burning or abandoning allowed but sometimes the computer will raze one). USSR may only replace auto-razed cities OR build cities in enemy territory (i.e. they must be at war with the power and settle the city within the cultural borders of that civ). They are permitted to do this with anybody…Sweden…England…France, so long as they are at war with them.
6. Since only the attacker sees the combats, all battle reports must either be posted or sent to the player involved. I would prefer posts so the rest of us can read them too. This should include the information that you used bombers and/or ships to shell areas. You don’t have to say how many….

If anyone needs hints or information, I will be glad to talk with you. I am Spain and will be building Conquistadors (my Journalists with their dogs) to go look out over the battle areas. I will try to not get in anyones way ;)

The Civilopedia is updated (at least mostly), so use it to gain information about the capabilities of your units and those of your opponents.

HOKAY!

So I found the thread!

Glad I dont have to play Germany last time... although taking the time to capture most of France in a turn and then having the game just end was kinda disappointing ;p

... does that count as a win? haha

Vive le Resistance!

Something I forgot to mention: the ban on giving away cities does NOT include peace negotiations...you can give as many cities as you like in order to negotiate peace...

Hi,

I got the following error when trying to load the save file

"ERROR READING FILE

Missing entry in "Scenarios\WW2 Europe\text\Pedialcons.txt": TECH_Airborne_Warfare

The game will now exit"

Anyone got any ideas?

PS: To Rcoutme, with WW2_Europe_MP_rpc_2.ZIP on your site, its contents only had WW2 Europe MP rpc 2.biq. This is the same as the WW2_Europe_MP_rpc_2p.BIQ file (but with the _ changed to spaces), is that right?

You have the same problem I had when I downloaded the scenario.

What we need to do is send you the correct folders/files ... the best way to do this is via MSN ... this is what Rcoutme did for me and it works a treat.

Incidently, didn't you try the scenario when you downloaded it ? You should have got the same error when you try to open the scenario at all.

@ Gishmibop: my MSN is Rcoutme at hotmail dot com. I will get with you to solve the problems. Yes...the files are roughly the same (I routinely change the location of German U-boats when starting a game, so they might be slightly different).

I apologise for the delay, the turn has been played and passed to Gnarfflinger.

We look with foreboding at the rising superpower that is Germany.

No reason to worry about boding... Germany is sheer ill ;p

PS: Who has the turn?
