Daftpanzer mourns the loss of so many brave dwarves, including her dear friend, Lord_Iggy II. She cries, and swears that she would have fought and taken the place of one of the fallen if fate had allowed it. Then she goes back to drinking strawberry wine.

Charles lay dead.
His tough skin did not prevent the bolts from entering his mouth, or did it prevent it from piercing his beard (which all dwarves know, is an external organ). He didn't feel the pain, until his own soul was pierced.
He lay dead, the sky forever dark, and will never be light again.
Until he found someone perfect to inspire, he is gone forever.
(If you ever get a guy with pretty good starting toughness, a mentality that leads to jail-time, and finds it easy to get friends, take me in! I need just two of three.)

Update 20: Post Siege Depression
Lord Iggy II leaves his family behind, Cuivienen is elected mayor.
Jason_the_King goes mad with rage and is locked inside the tombs for a while to calm his nerves. As he is let out, saying he is calm, he breaks a table in the dining hall and is thrown in jail.
The military as it stands post siege. Jeps drowned himself after being one of the only unharmed survivors of the battle. Very soldierlike of him.
Luckymoose, training with new crossbow and artifact quiver, becomes a mighty champion marksdwarf. Soon after a solid gem is made into an animal trap somehow.
Mayor Cuiv was injured during the siege that also killed her husband Iggy II apparently and lays healing in the mayoral suite.
Elves complain, Dwarfs do not care.
After years of living in it, the dwarfs finally realize there is sand on the mountain and it can be used in glass making. A direct link to the sand is made.
A little exploratory mining to think of spreading the noble levels hallways runs into a new ore vein, this time it's nickle, and it is in abundance.
We get hit by an ambush, the first goblin is caught in a cage.
More come up the hill and Luckymoose runs to his post.
Toetone is caught outside by the ambush.
And is killed.
The goblins that aren't captured or killed in the traps try to cross the bridge, out of nowhere a bolt from Luckymoose flies across the area and into the skull of a gobbo.
Like a machinegunner of bolts, Luckymoose lays waste to the first two gobbos and then, out of bolts, simply beats the other ones to death with his crossbow.
