E-Mail notification not working for me again

I'm doing a second try on the email test: the first oen didn't work And my email address worked before and somehow I doubt the problem is on my side... I'll report back if I get the test.

I have stepped up my post rate, and am getting loads more pm's than i ever used to.

The lack of email is a real downer. I'm curious as to why some people have suddenly got it working again...

Hey Isak, I though I would resurrect this thread just to let you know that I now have emails working again.

For me at least it was my ISP, as changing ISP fixed the problem immediately. I contacted my ISP some time ago but they denied all knowledge of blocking emails from telefragged servers (I even gave them IP's to check). Who can say why they lied to me? Maybe they were just really really stupid.

Suffice to say, never use UK2.net if you live in the UK. Blocking email servers that are known spammers is fine, but they denied it when I asked them about it, and I asked on at least 3 seperate occasions.

I have to guess some of the blame lies at the feet of telefragged, who must have had some open relay email servers at some point. I can't think of any other reason for emails to be blocked from an ISP...

Yep, I guess it could be due to the open relay thing. My isp automatically blocks open relay servers after X amount of messages have been sent, so that would explain why our admin wasn't aware of any blocks - I'll see if he can dig something up with this new knowledge. (which of course I could have figured out by looking closely at the headers - doh! )

Why on earth do telefragged want to run open relay servers? They might as well just write an open invitation to the entire international community of ISP's to give them a good spanking once a week, and let it be at that.

mine still is down. I have a totally new PC with fresh XP and Mozilla - no!

My uni mail doesn#t work either.

My email notification just went bezerk. Not been on CFC for a couple of days, due to work. On checking, I have supposed email notifications to threads, some of which (e.g. Babe Thread SEVEN!) were closed some weeks ago.

Very strange!
