E-Mail notification not working for me again

It still doesn't seem to work for me.

I don't get notifications for replies anyway (due to my settings) but I haven't gotten a single one for PMs during the last few weeks and that is enabled, as I just checked once more.

I see, I though it only showed up in threads in which you asked for e-mail notifications(I had the E-Mail Notifications checked). Thanks for Clarification. Im pretty sure this is A local problem, not the fault of CFC's 'host', as mine started working when I changed my e-mail address to one I had previously. And it works fine, I wonder if this is good or bad . . .

I'm sure it's not - I have now tried 3 different email servers - all of them different 'real' isp servers, not freemail or web-based mail accounts, and I'm not receiving notifications on either one. It's been like this ever since the server move (that was what it was, wasn't it ??) about 5 weeks ago.

I have tried everything in addition to changing my email adress - toggling email notification on and off in an attempt to kickstart it, re-subscribing to threads, screaming and yelling (didn't help, but sure did me some good) and anything else I can think of...

I sent another email to Telefragged about the problem yesterday and here's the reply I got:

it appears to be a flip between being an open relay and get put on block list or a few people not being able to get mail.(or we are on their block list right now)

You could go to this email test page (http://forums.civfanatics.com/mailtest.php) and send yourself a few test emails. For example, if you can't receive the test email for your ISP email account, try Yahoo email.

You should be able to receive the forum email notifications if you can receive the test email w/o problem

I just tested mine... Maybe my ISP doesn't accept mail from here? (it thinks its' bulk mail? But, I get email sometimes when Thunderfall makes an email annoucement).

I tried it several times, Thunderfall.

No mail ever reached my hotmail account, no "error message" was shown on the test page, no sense that anything was happening. What is wierd is that my notification did work for a few days in the middle of not working. You are definitely not on my block list. Am I on yours?

@Annares- I have adjusted to using the my vB home to look at the subscribed threads, it isn't as bad as it at first seems once you get used to how it works. It has actually increased my posting level since I can see updates immediately going back to it as opposed to the occasional emails. Nice haiku

I work for my ISP and know our mail server staff personally, and I can testify 100% for certain that we (my ISP/Employer) don't block anything from telefragged or cfc or any of the SMTP/Relay servers I have received email notification from previously.

In addition, I have an old but working account with another danish ISP, and it stopped working too at the same time - i know because a fellow danish CFC member uses that ISP as his only email-provider and his notifications stopped coming at the same time, and haven't come back since.

This rules out the email block entirely in my mind, unless 2 danish (arch-enemy) ISP's suddenly decided to introduce the same spam-filter overnight... And if Sultan Barghash's Hotmail account doesn't work, that should be similar for all hotmail user's, shouldn't it? Not that I know it isn't...

Done the test as well. No email arrived to my normal ISP or my hotmail account.

I have sent one to work and will check tomorrow.
