Earth map, with 18 civs (Huge)

I´ve a problem with this map. I installed it in

...\Firaxis Games\Civ4\Public Maps

and every time i want to start a new single player game i was told the Earth18civs.wbs cant be loaded?!?
Is there something i´ve overseen?

Did you try "New Scenario" ?

well its too bad you cant select any options easier with the map. do you really have to go to the xml every time to select which nations you want to exist with on the map? isnt there someway to take the map into 'custom game' and setup your options that way? or is that only for random generated map types?

im kinda dissapointed if not because 99.99% of my civ3 games were all played on a scenario where i chose the other civs and other aspects of the game, without editing any xml...

EDIT: and anyone who is trying to figure out how to do this to cut down the civs....you dont just delete the entries, you have to delete the stuff between beginplayer and endplayer..

go here it helped me: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=141289

What you mean with new scen? I the failure massege first when i get on single player, secound when i get on play scen. I also tryed the public map folder in "my games" and changed the languages. It all brings me the same failure massage.

I've got to say that this map looks absolutely awesome.

I wouldn't have thought that the horizontal/vertical squares would have lent themselves to such a detailed map - for its size, it seems a lot better than any 3/4 perspective map from Civ III.

Can anyone post some ingame screenshots of themselves playing this map in known locations? (Eg. British Isles, Australia etc.)

Well im currently playing this map as the english... just started to expand now.. just created the city of cape town down in south africa.. have yet to explore the pacific =]

Hm. You can only select nations and not leaders when starting up (so you are locked to using Roosevelt instead of Washington for instance). Any way to fix?

Kinseek - Go to page two for the Washington version..
Graun - Unzip and put the file in C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\PublicMaps

But it's impossible.

when I put some "example.Civ4WorldBuilderSave" in Public Mods I have this error in game:

"Failed to read worldbuilder file "example.Civ4WorldBuilderSave"

so? How can I play in this map?

thanks? but it doesn't work... How to open mods without that error I mentioned?

Awesome map... you've done a truly great job, Rhye. :)

Just wondering though, what's the [tile x tile] size of the map? And how does it compare with the default [tile x tile] world sizes in Civ4? Haven't got the game myself just yet (will do in a week or so), and as a map maker myself I'm curious about the size restrictions etc. (Well, I know that "officially" there are no size restrictions, but for gameplay purposes I'm sure there's a limit to a "playable" map size. ;) )
